Lateral Building Design

The lateral building design team have been absolutely amazing throughout the whole process.Helping to design our future home and work with our ideas to help bring our dream alive.We went to BigPlans Melbourne to do a real scale walk through of the design and we did not need to change a thing.I would highly recommend this team for any projects in the future.

I have engaged Lateral Building Design in Feb 2022 for our dream house subdivision project. Mark who took the initial call and enganned agreement. After two months they gave the worst draft ( i haven’t asked them to finalize the draft) then asked me my option. That draft is not what I have given briefly. I have requested to alter and update that bad design but they send me another bill to do any further work. It was a fixed term agreement and they were supposed to not charge until finalizing the planning design. I have raised concerns but John, who owns the company, listened to what I have told him but again he wants to support his employee then asking for extra payment without delivering. Short the story they are not good and are looting money from customers. I have requested my deposit back. They said that my deposit is not refundable because they worked on it. No planning design given to me and delayed my planning permit. Due to this i lost my Valuable 3.7K and four months time. Now I am fighting against them in the Domestic building dispute resolution authority and VCAT. Do not use them and approach them they are big dollar suckers. They are not treating and dealing with customers as professionally.

We recently worked with John, Donna, Catherine and the team at LBD for our Swimming pool planning permit application. We live in an area with several overlays on our property and the application required the expertise of LBD to pull it all together to ensure our application was successful. I’m delighted to say we proudly handed over our permit to the pool builders who appreciated all the hard work of LBD. We were able to provide our builder with comprehensive reports and information for them to work with and they were extremely grateful. Thanks again LBD for your professional help working towards helping us achieve our lifestyle dream!

Great to find a business that isn't dependant on one person to answer your questions and who have so much experience and expertise. Most importantly, they honestly care about your goals and listen to what you want. Having known the team at LBD for going on 10 years we couldn't recommend them highly enough. Building can be so stressful, so many areas to consider, and dealing with council can be so confusing. Very incompetent, not responsive at all, I would not recommend this company. Very frustrating experience. Have been dealing with this company for over 10 years and it has caused unnecessary stress for my family and I. Poor communication and lack of attention to detail. My advice, go elsewhere!FYI, I am a customer and posting this on behalf of my family who have been frustratingly dealing with you for a long time. I would be happy to elaborate my frustrations and have emails and support to justify my 1 star review. If possible, I would give this business no stars.
