Crystal Cascades
A bit overrated. It is one of the closest fall from the city but not the best. Good for hiking and picnic but not really suitable for swimming especially during rainy days as the water is rather murky and the current can be strong.

Beautiful- saw turtle in the wild. Top pool is very scenic but difficult for younger kids or less mobile to navigate although there are other spots along the way for easier access to swim.Lovely walk up to viewing point, paved and easy to follow.

Beautiful waterfall with swimming hole for the families. However there are a lots of insects around the area so you should take a spray

Gorgeous waterfall swimming hole, scenic 1.2km walk to get there. 3 swimming areas are accessible via staircases from the path, the waterfall is at the end and is so worth the walk.

Lovely hike up the mountain with my 3 year old son and wife. It was springing with rain which added to the rainforest experience. After the hike, we went for a swim in the waterfall. Such an amazing experience watching the fish swim by while we lazed around. Definitely a must while visiting Cairns.

Worth the drive: a picturesque, natural swimming hole fed by a beautiful waterfall. The walk feels longer then the 1.1 Km they say it is as it is all up hill, but the walkway is paved. There are also two other places with stairs down to the water if you don't want to walk right to the end. You will have to climb over rocks to get to the water so water shoes are strongly recommended (but I did it without).

Beautiful and quiet area. I didn’t see a shower/wash spot but there is a tap to wash feet. We didn’t get to see the main falls because of the 30mins walk with a toddler! But we enjoyed the first 2 spots where you can go down and take a dip/swim, less than 10mins walk from the parking. Water is cool and a bit murky but refreshing. Public toilet and change room at parking is great, just watch out for spiders :)
