Amazing spot for a drink, tucked away because they obviously don’t need a lot of signage to draw people in. Live music was awesome too, ordered some finger food and it was ready really quickly considering how many people were there, can’t wait to return!

A nice place to relax and enjoy the beach. The view is lovely 5/5, everything else not so much 2/5.The restaurant is located in a humongous hangar, a massive barn with high ceilings. Prices are $$$$$ very high for what you get. Service is sub-par, poor 1/5. We felt unwelcomed; every staff person was most likely not used to, and tired of the Xmas crowds; not ready for more people around the new year. You will get a true rural experience here. I felt like going 40 years back in a time machine. Almost felt like the Karen's chain...Also, don't order any meat dish here, unless you like it very well done. Kangaroo meat special was well overcooked and extra dry. I double checked when ordering that it would be medium rare, as normally expected, but the kitchen failed. Soba noodles - do not ask for the chicken as it will come overcooked and super dry too. It should be sold as a vegetarian dish only.Avoid this place, unless there is nothing else around, or you need a beach location joint that will feed you some grub...To summarise, it is a basic drinking hole with some food available.Ideally, come for drinks, the view and the vibe. Don't count on culinary experience...

The venue was stunning with beautiful views and gorgeous breezes that helped ward off the humidity of the tropics. Staff were fairly prompt with service although incorrectly answered questions about the dishes. The steak sandwiches that several of our group ordered contained a chewy, overcooked piece of grisly meat that everyone struggled to eat and the unshelled prawns came with nothing to put the shells in. For the prices charged we did expect better quality however would visit again just for the views and atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing venue, we had lunch here twice whilst in town and stayed for a couple of drinks because we loved the atmosphere. Live music was great!Food was pretty good too

We hired a car and travelled up for a late dinner in the middle of winter, so it was a lot quieter than usual. A decent menu for vegetarian options and food came super quickly. Mock tails were yum. Interestingly no table service, but probably makes sense when it is busy.

Went to Northerlies on a recent trip to Airlie Beach. Our party ordered lunch, and by most accounts it was enjoyed. Our son had the chicken burger and he loved it. My wife and I shared oysters Kirkpatrick which were nice, and shared a steak which sadly was very over cooked. Ordered medium-rare but was more towards medium-well. Didn't ask for another as wife was hungry and it took a while for food to come out to start with. Other than that we had a great time, Awesome views, was a quiet day....waited a while for the free bus to head in for pick up, but again guessing because it was quiet only the small one was running. Still would recommend.

Amazing! If only they did table service. I understand why it would be hard to manage but makes it difficult if you're not with a group. The venue is stunning, though, and the food is exquisite. Where else can you order a lovely drink and then walk along the beach watching the waves? I'll absolutely be back.
