A long term member (since inception) of this organisation. Kancho Doug Turnbull is a senior, prominent, highly respected and influential figure in the martial arts community. His multi disciplinary, uncompromising approach to martial arts training emphasises on solid foundation of techniques, extending to spirituality aspect such as personal growth both physically and mentally. He played instrumental roles in the developments of many leading martial arts instructors of the last decades.

With the increase in MMA popularity, its refreshing to find a dojo still dedicated to traditional martial art. Kancho Doug Turnbull is patient and encouraging, instilling a sense of pride & discipline within my son. I appreciate the smaller class sizes, rather than feeling part of a production line as some bigger places.

Kancho Doug is extremely knowledgeable, patient and passionate about martial arts. He fosters a great culture in class and I cannot recommend him or Marrickville Kyokushin Karate enough.

Kancho Doug instills a serious work ethic in these children. He takes Discipline serious and more importantly he has a sincere passion for the Art of Karate. So if your serious about character development than Doug is definitely the man.
