Lune Mill River House

Stayed here with young kids a few years back via the Stayz booking website. This place is an absolute dream. Yes, it's rustic. And yes, the bed sheets are old, but clean.But the place has an eccentric charm about it. I read the reviews on Stayz and can understand why a few folks are turned off because it isn't hotel grade. But it's perfectly hygienic and represents terrific value. The location is spectacular and secluded. We were able to catch loads of fish from the jetty. Wallabies, black swan, cormorants, ducks and geese were the neighbours. Kids loved it. We visited in April and it was starting to get cold. The two fireplaces are good. There are also plenty of heaters but warm clothes are advised. Plenty of firewood provided and we brought our own hatchet. Bloke on the corner sells boxes of good quality firewood in case you want a better burning fire.I'm writing this now during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic wishing I was at the Lune Mill River House with a dram in one hand and book in the other watching the Lune River. Postcard memories.
