Great place. To stop they serve bbq chicken fried chicken gravy coleslaw cups and more.It is a fast food restaurant with quick food. The staff were friendly and the store was neat and tidy.Will visit again when I'm in the area.Thanks

Had lunch here with my girls. The young man who served us was clearly learning, but he was polite and respectful and asked another young man for help when he needed it. Young man number 2 was also polite and respectful.While we were waiting, and older lady who I assume was shift manager was rudely speaking down to young man number 1. Telling him things he did wrong loud enough for everyone to hear and feel awkward. She continued to chastise him the entire time we were seated eating our meal.As a mum, I wanted to step in and 'protect' this boy, but I also felt like that would make it worse for him after we left.I hope he knows that he is worth more than that manager made him feel.We all make mistakes. We all need to learn. But that is NOT how we should be taught!

Different from KFC, great tasting chicken not oily, fully of flavour and all food is served hot. Good shop, plenty of tables and seating staff are very cheerful and happy to answer any questions.

Quality hennies for a neat little penny. FIVE STARS!!!EDIT: Actually went to have dinner there 2 days after this review. Genuinely surprised at how good the chicken actually was. FIVE STARS!!!EDIT 2: After returning home, I spoke to my father about my experience at Henny Penny's. He told me he was on the team which led to the closure of all Henny Penny's across Sydney and Woolongong when he worked on the Red Rooster executive team. For this, I am sorry to all Henny Penny fans outside of the Newcastle area. FIVE STARS!!!

We just had a great experience with the Henny Penny drive through. There was an issue with the EFPOST machine but the man working the counter was very helpful and the issue was resolved promptly. He was very friendly and can’t recommend Henny Penny enough after our interaction with him, it was very nice! Food was great as well

One person ahead of me in the drive through. 40 mins to get three rubbery little chicken thighs, soggy chips, watery gravy and a coleslaw I’d never trust. At least the sprite was cold. Hopeless.

If I could give no stars I would have. Very rude staff, didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there waiting to be served. Knew I was there as they looked at me. Manager was too busy haven't a chat and telling staff what needed to be done at the end of their shift. They have lost our service forever now.Would not recommend going to East Maitland Henny Penny. Very disgusted in the customer service.

Was great to visit Henry penny while in Maitland takes me back to my childhood. Only negative was the lady working there was betraying an employee in front of everyone.
