Great fish n chipper very close to the beach. Freshly cooked when ordered and ready really quickly. Everything was cooked well, nice & crisp and not too greasy. The potato cakes are yum! Good size portions. The burgers looked delicious so will have to come back and try them at some point! Pretty good pricing. Got my pack with a fish, dim sim, potato cake & chips for $15.50!

You can get a hamburger, chips and a small salad for $12 dolars which I think is pretty neat! And not to mention the crumbed fish from the burger was delicious as well as the chips! Overall everything was amazing counting the service!

Great chips some of the best lve had and good service, but the fish on 3 different occasions was dry and disappointing.In the past l did enjoy the fish, but l suspect it is now bought frozen.

For the most part absolutely delicious fish and chips. The fish batter so light, so crisp, and so damn fresh, same with the chips.I assume tartare is usually given so charging for a little pod I think isn’t insanely reasonable.Also the calamari rings were far from expectation, it was the whipped up type with flour incorporated not your typical chewy whole calamari ring, would not recommend ordering them

Ideally located, just a step across from South Melbourne beach, Ahoy Roy Fish & Chips offers a variety of what would have to be the most delicious fish this side of town ..The Flake is Juicy, crunchy and so very tasty, with the Salt and pepper calamari being so soft and tasty.Ahoy Roy is definitely the place to go to when in South Melbourne Beach..The Staff are friendly and extremely helpful and the outdoor eating area is a plus .With public transport at the door who can go wrong.

At $2 a pop ($2.50 on ubereats) I expected decent size calamari rings but these were small and tough and overcooked. The chips while tasty also had a fair few overcooked and appeared to be purposely hidden at the bottom of the box. And the kids burger meat was undercooked in parts. They were overwhelmed the day we visited and despite agreeing to a 25 minute wait, waited almost 50 minutes for our meal. Others also had the same problem. The decent chips were tasty and the staff were friendly but I wouldn't be rushing back for an evening meal.
