Forbes River Meadows Caravan Park

Great stop over. Unfortunately a few too many thorns when walking the dogs to the rear and to the river otherwise very clean and nice drive through grassy sites

Although located just off a main highway, the Newell, which is a main route for lots of semis and their freight, I was pleasantly surprised at how little the noise impacted on our stay, and night's sleep.We were welcomed warmly and given free range in terms of selecting a site. Granted, travelling in August meant fewer people were holidaying but it is always nice to be allowed a choice in where you set up.The toilets were absolutely immaculate, and, after a long day on the road, the instant and very hot water provided in the showers was greatly appreciated.It is a small park without all the frills of larger competitors, who are often members of a chain. The facilities, although older than many we have experienced, were clean and neatly kept. The site placements are a bit random and the grounds probably need some attention but all of this is reflected in the very realistic charge of $25 a night. We would stay there again and, as long as you are not into frills and whistles, so should you!

We stayed here on our way home as we were passing through NSW. The cabin we stayed in was infested with bugs and insects.I have a 9 month old and bugs had managed to get inside his bottles, under his bottle caps and even inside my tooth brush holder and toiletry bag. Our car was covered in bugs from getting inside our luggage, on our towels and clothes.The cabin we stayed in had a mouldy kettle, a crusty used up dish sponge that they couldn't even replace for new guests.We thought we would head down to the pool while we were there for a dip only to find it was disgusting and full of bugs, and dead frogs so that was also a no go.We were not given any warning by staff about the insect infestation, otherwise we would have booked elsewhere. I also can't see any reviews about this issue so fair warning to others who are looking to stay here, especially with infants or little ones.Would not recommend this place at all and will not be staying here on our way through again. Overall disgusting. Worth paying the extra elsewhere.

Nice grassy sites however the amenities block is the worst we have ever seen. Very dirty and not cleaned. Hand basins given a token wipe over once during our 2 x night stay. Bins in amenities block full when we arrived and did not get emptied whilst we were there. Would not stay here again.

Friendly helpful staff.The park has green grass that was getting watered while we were there. Also well shaded.The roads around the van sites were dirt with quite large pot holes.The amenities are aged but clean.The dump point has no hose to rinse tha cannisters only a tap on the amenities block wall.Very reasonably priced for a powered site

I stayed on a powered site. It was easy to set up and facilities were nice and clean. Specially bathrooms (very important!) It was pretty to see the sun come up in the morning.

Stayed at Rivermeadows with my toddler daughter for nearly a week in one of their small cabins. The cabins were fantastic. Clean, well presented, everything you need for a nice little break away. The kitchen appliances & electronics were all in working order & thank goodness for the air conditioning!Management couldn’t do more to help with any questions I had or assistance I needed. The grounds are spectacularly kept. Green manicured grass, beautiful shaded areas. Just a perfectly picturesque little site. It was nice to be so close to town without being in the thick of it.Will hopefully be coming back soon!
