Had my watch batteries in 4 watches replaced they are working the best they ever had, now getting my grandfather serviced l will keep you posted.

Excessive pricing here. I took a cuckoo clock to Zak to recondition and a wall clock to have the quartz movement replaced. He quoted $900 for the cuckoo clock which seemed extreme. So, I settled for $120 for the wall clock, even though it seemed a lot. While he had it, I found a second wall clock that needed a new movement and sent him a photo, asking for a quote. Same price ($120). I found a new movement online for $11 delivered and fitted it myself in 25 minutes – the clock hasn’t missed a beat since. Fitting it a second time would take me under 15 minutes. Before I paid Zak, I explained what I’d done and questioned his charge. He said it was because he used a German movement. Later, I found these for sale on Australian websites (same brand) for under $20. In other words, he charges $100 for about 15 minutes’ work – clearly excessive and certainly no discount for a business run from home: in fact, a huge premium.

I came down from Sunbury to have 2 of my prized clocks repaired. These people were the best. price was great, workmanship was excellent, I could not have asked for more. Should I ever need them again I will be straight back to them. Zac and his wife are lovely people to deal with, so if your needing clocks repaired go to Poniger in Heidelberg. Zak did a fantastic job on our old 8 day wall clock. It took a bit longer than expected but it was worth the wait. The clock even sounds different and is keeping perfect time. I thoroughly recommend ZaK to anyone with an antique clock.
