I was a bit disappointed but it is 2 days after Christmas so the stock may be depleted. Sign on the door said shop would be open from 10am, didn't open until 11am.

Purchased Niki Savas book today and asked about ordering in a book, to which the assistant said not before Christmas" without asking what it was. Looked it up online to see dymocks do stock it. Purchased from booktopia so I didn't have to go back in and deal with the attitude."

Dymocks is great and should be supported but surely a suburb like Claremont justifies a bigger bookshop than this. My prediction is that if you doubled the size of this shop you would more than double the sales. Selection here is just too small for the local market.

The staff there was knowledgable about the different genre of books. Managed to get some good books recommended by the staff as a Christmas gift for my child. Courtesy service was fantastic too.

Dymmocks got their start in Sydney and grew because they were an early adopter of technology... Forty years later there is a less obvious edge over the competition because let's face it... They ate the competition. Where is A & R now? Consumed. But it would be nice to see a wider range. I am not sure if the restricted range has to do with what sells but there are niche bookstores that win over Dymmocks and to the I will give an extra star; it is only fair, right?

It’s great to still have an option for physical books in a book store. Plus they had several different copies of the book I was looking for which was a bonus! I’ve been reading the iPad almost exclusively now for over 10 years and realised I missed holding a physical book. Excited to get back into it!

The young lady who helped me find my books and served me so graciously, with a helpful and genuine smile, despite being overrun with customers this particular Saturday morning, deserves a medal. They also had in stock the two kids book I wanted (Love You Forever, Goodnight Moon) and a perfect gift book on photography. An easy and positive experience in every sense. I will return.
