Excellent food, great accomodation, fantastic drinks and wonderful hosts! The courtyard is beautiful and the balcony is a great spot to relax. Benno was a legendary bar man as well as everything else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Great place to drop-in for a bite. I dropped into the Vale while looking for a meal as I was travelling though with a caravan looking for a camp for the night and it was getting late.The Vale was all lit up like a xmas tree and looked inviting, so I parked up and went in. It was not what I was expecting. The insides are like a cross between a smart cafe and old pub with all the old features still found. A lovely dinning room with room to move. I had a pizza which was good and a desert also good. A great open fire, that I would have loved to have sat their drinking a red or port after a meal and settle in. Would I go back, Yes.Mark

Great vibes. Amazing friendly staff. I had the scrambled eggs with tomato and cheese. Highly recommended.

We stopped in for lunch while driving the silo trail and were immediately impressed with the lovely old building. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.Food was great and well priced.

We spent 2 nights in Charlton and found the Vale of Avoca to be best place in town to have drinks + dinner - on both nights! Great maintained heritage building with very friendly hosts making us feel at home and welcome. Offers seating inside in the dining room or outside in the beer garden. There is also a very cosy bar for a drink or 3. Great selection of drinks and very reasonable prices, not to mention a varied menu offering. The food on both nights was well presented and delicious. They also offer Pizza takeaway as well. Definitely the place to eat if you a staying in the area or travelling through.

A rare gem! Benno, Tyler and the team are quick with a story, a smile and A grade service and the whole gang are wonderful hosts. The Vale itself exudes 19th century charm and has a fascinating history of empowered women and colourful characters.I'd recommend it to all of my friends and family.
