Milkshake was nice. Serving size was nice for the price. However, it was a quiet morning and waited 20+ minutes for my take away order. Would not recommend battered fish as the batter was thick and dense, and still raw. Taste of the fish was ruined by the taste of raw flour. Extra charge for battered too so opt for crumbed as they may do this better.

Quick services! We appreciated the fish l, pineapple cake and calamari rings as they tasted fresh and sweet. However, we found the chips a letdown (cold and not freshly cooked, unfortunately)

Great experience of fresh Seafood variety, with hard working Aussies sharing their love and passion. Love the seaside of Sandgate, you can't go wrong there!However the food is pretty average which is a disappointment. The first visit 8 months ago was awesome, fresh food and meals. Great flavouring, and loved it! This could have remained as a 4 star ratingHowever in the past 8 months up till most recently, it has been a bit of a mixture. Sometimes the meals were spot on but in the past 3 months the meals have been average or sometimes tasteless. Either the chips were over cooked or the fish were not cooked enough or didn't feel fresh. Sometimes the meals were greasy but most of the time it wasn't so I'm not sure what's the deal thereUnfortunately my rating has dropped down from this a fair bit and I hope things will improve soon.It doesn't stop me from going here from time to time, because a lot of my friends recommended this place but as I said hope to get that awesome experience back soon!

Gentleman who serves me was friendly and welcoming, even though it was busy. Food was pretty good. Fish was grilled perfectly & I'm fussy with my fish. Chips were good.

You have to love fresh, well cooked sea food & chips & that is certainly what we got from Doug’s.We went for the Snack pack for two, tender calamari, barramundi strips, chips & pineapple fritters. Lovely.We were there on a Friday at around 12 & it was busy enough with limited tables available, few of the larger tables had only two at them & the bar seating along the front had available spots, so we could have dined in if we wanted.It was such a nice day we opted for the park seating just a cross the road on the water front.I could have easily rated Doug’s a 5 star, but and it’s a common but in such cafes, they expected me to know their process & when I asked where to pick up my order, the lady just seem to get the question once to often.Sorry love I did not mean to bother you.For those who don’t know like me, orders are picked up at a window on the wall to the left of the cashier.Great sea food.

Good fish and chips and we were served pretty quickly. Can get very busy with queues out the door during peak times (a good sign), but they coped well nonetheless. Dining in available under the covered area, or takeaway for a walk on the nearby beach.

I had an amazing meal! I ordered the prawn on garlic and the grilled snapper fish, and both dishes were cooked to perfection. The prawns were juicy and succulent, with just the right amount of garlic flavor to make them deliciously savory. The grilled snapper fish was also fantastic - the fish was flaky and tender, with a wonderful smoky flavor that complemented the natural sweetness of the fish.The service was also excellent - the staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They helped me choose the perfect wine to pair with my meal, and made sure that I had everything I needed throughout the meal.Overall, I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and I can't wait to come back and try more dishes!
