The Donburi Specialist | Specialising in Donburi - the hearty, humble Japanese rice dish we all know and love, but enhanced by an epicurean glow-up. We serve an extended menu of finely considered modern, casual dishes intended for sharing and range of Japanese bottled beers, fruit wine and sake. We also have beer on tap! Uncle Don is worth it. Worth the trip. Worth the wait. Worth the price. Yeah it’s not cheap for Don Buri or snacks but it’s run really efficiently and with great care for the preparation of the food.You get a sense of a well run venue with good communication between kitchen and front of house. The food output is consistent and time is taken for a high level of presentation.Wonderful Japanese casual dining, can’t wait to return

Nice food! Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We ordered salmon sashimi don and mushroom don. The soy sauce for salmon is quite salty it might affect the taste of salmon if you add too much. The mushroom don taste good but personally think the marinated mushroom is too salty. Will definitely come again.

As good as the reviews were, it unfortunately did not live up to the hype. Food was good enough, but not really worth the price point at all.•Pork Belly dons served that hour were over charred (see pic) and we came home smelling like KBBQ•Salmon Don’s quality was on par with a sushi train’s•Unagi don had a good fat unagi, but definitely needed more sauce bastedDefinitely can’t compare to other similar restaurants like Tokyo Chubo!

Beautiful menu and delicious food. The wagyu steak don is absolutely mouthwatering. The grilled duck breast is also incredible however, I did find the brussels sprouts very heavy. The kaisen don looks amazing and tasted equally amazing. Some of the dishes are pricing but the quality is definitely worth it. The staff are also friendly.

Uncle Don is an amazing Japanese modern cuisine. Their dishes are hard to find alternate in Brisbane. Everything on the menu is delicious!
