Great, easy walk, however the path along the stream is well overgrown and the path is not clear. So we ended up walking the the path along the mines (Water Race) and then turned back when we got to Ostini Trail. There's also a broken tree close to the Ostini trail start, so watch out for that.

The location is a lovely scenic location and has several trails to explore the area along the river, this area has several fenced off areas due to open mine shafts from the Gold rush in this region. The trails are relatively easy to walk, better signs would be a great benefit to make navigation easier. You can also fish here as well as have a picnic or barbecue. There is also a toilet block on site. I recommend this location for both the individual and family.

Didn't use the picnic area but went for the water race walking track. The loop was closed due to flooded creek but b there was no sign so had to come back the same say

Great walking tracks, a few snakes, the odd fish and a bit of yellow if you want to search for it. Basic Amenities. Top spot for a walk.

Great place to camp and have a fish, has toilets and some cover, lots of snakes in summer time is the only draw back.

An excellent small picnic area beside the stream, made more interesting by all the remnants of historic gold-mining activity in the area. There is a fenced-off area just above the picnic ground, to protect visitors from falling into the many mineshafts that dot the area. We tried to do the loop walk shown on the map, but found that the trail beside the stream was considerably overgrown at the time of our visit. The track along the water-race was, however, easy to walk along and afforded occasional views of the stream below.

A trail walk in gold rush history.Forth Crossing picnic area is a great location for a picnic with tables and seating located on a nice grassy area beside the Summer Hill Creek. There are also toilets located at the car parking area.An information board provides information about the gold workings found in the area as well as some history.Taking the upper section of the trail walk leads you along the remains of the water race used to bring water to the alluvial gold diggings high up on the creek banks. Steep sections of the water race have hand stacked stone walls forming the race between areas of bedrock jutting out from the hillside. The lower section of the track follows the creek but for the most part it is not clearly visible. Flood debris and fallen trees are some of the bigger obstacles found along the creek track but still quite a pleasant walk.

We visited on a cold winter's day for picnic and walk. Superbly kept site that is rich in history and has good explanatory information. Pleasant view to creek and lots of walking options. Also, lots of wildlife with well fed kookaburras and plenty of wallabies. Hope to come back one day. Some gravel roads.
