Paint Place Collaroy

well .... i am in to chalk painting .and i bought my first annie sloan chalk paint at a little shop in fairlight .the paint was excellent.it was thick and velvety .it dried very quick and coverage was absolute .at 60 $ a L tin ,i thought i might research other places to see if they also made chalk paint ! i came across the collaroy paint shop who stocks and mixes porters chalk paint . the paint was 10 $ cheaper and i thought i give it a try .well ...... whoever mixes the paint is perhaps colorblind or at the very least color insensitive .the shades do NOT match most of the sample cards shades and the paint is like water.(its that thin) it takes forever to dry .and mostly you need 2 coats to have a somewhat decent cover . and when u pour it in to a container it has bubbles everywhere! seriously ....that paint is watery as all hell .so if i were someone who wanted a decent and quick drying job done ,i would take the trip to fairlight and for an extra 8 $ more... now (i think they raised the price at that paint shop )you get annie sloans chalk paint that you can water down yourself (if you feel the need to do so ).not to mention the colors are exactly what they say they are .the staff at the collaroy paint shop are very helpful and know their stuff .so far i have only dealt with the women and as far as i am concerned they do a great job .(its not their fault the paint is awful)but their chalk paint is watered down like a cheap house wine at the local yokels pub .sorry guys ...but someone had to tell you .... it might as well be someone who does this kind of painting all the time !
