Osaka Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant
We’ve been here a couple of times before and loved it. For my birthday dinner my partner booked this for us with our 3 kids (if it were just the two of us I’d have chosen something more relaxed but the kids love Teppanyaki so there we were). The food was great but the service was bad. We were in and out in under an hour. Honestly I couldn’t eat fast enough to keep up with the food. The whole thing felt so rushed and we felt ripped off as it’s not a cheap meal out for a family of 5. Hardly any Teppanyaki theatrics (which is what you pay for). They didn’t give us any sauce or ask if we’d like another drink and they forgot to do the standard salt ‘thank you’ at the end, which the kids would have loved. Wouldn’t go back again. Next time we’ll try the one at Gordon.

Nice teppanyaki, chef was very nice and good sense of humour. Nice that they could provide gluten free options too. Quality is not bad, not amazing either, an expensive dinner overall but your partly paying your the show and not just the food when you go to teppanyaki. Not sure the girls liked getting covered in bits of egg or fried rice but we sure all had a good laugh!

Was so disappointed in both the show and the meal. I was expecting the chef to be tossing implements, an onion volcanoe, salt writing and some more interaction with customers. Then the food, while good proportions, there was shell in the eggs and burnt flakes throughout the rice. The meat was also flavourless. I had talked up teppanyaki to friends and was absolutely devastated in what we received.

Food was only ok, the chef we had was less experienced than the others so the entertainment was average. That became apparent when he clipped my sons lip with the bbq tool when he tried to throw egg into his mouth. I’m sure it was accidental and he put in the effort, but it still happened.

For me this restaurant was below average. The meat/seafood/chicken was fresh and the entertainment factor was good but for me that’s where the positives end.The food had little flavor, the chef was careless with egg shells in the fried rice (showstopper for me), the portions were small compared to other similar restaurants I’ve visited and there’s the floor … I’m not sure when it was last cleaned but it was visibly dirty and so greasy i could feel it through my shoes. Dinner was enjoyable but my experience certainly didn’t match most of the reviews you will read here.

One of the best in not-too-expensive Teppanyaki restaurant in north shore. Price of banquet menu starts from 35 and goes to 55 pp.Food quality is OK, The portion is small as almost all Japanese are, but highly recommend from entertainment side of it. Specially for kids and youths.I had experience with chef Sammy*, he was very funny, entertaining and good at what he is doing.Good place to celebrate Birthday parties. If you want everyone remembers your birthday party for years, ask for Sammy*.* His name was Sammy like.

This place is very overrated. The food is just below average at best and not so substantial. Although the staff were very nice and trying their best, it took 15-30minutes for us to begin to be served food and receive any drinks. The first table we were given was dirty and needed rewiping. They then proceeded to move us to another table due to a dysfunctional grill, which was uncleaned and had excess foods from the previous group cooking. To me this shows extreme disorganisation here. The games played with food seem a little out of play, whereas other teppanyaki places I have been had an extremely accurate aim and experience without mess to your clothing and hair. These chefs throw food and miss, get it in your hair and all over your clothes. Honestly, i don't even think they were Japanese, probably Chinese. I have relied on the previous highly rated reviews, which I'm quite disappointed with, and have let me down. My thoughts are that they haven't had a good teppanyaki experience. As an asian, i don't even feel some of the rice was cooked substantially it was still crunchy when i bit into it. It's fun but there are better options people, the good ratings are from people that have little experience with asian food, sorry to say.

I chose this place for my friend's birthday party to have a different dining experience. When we got seated, the chef did his thing; threw cups for us to catch, threw eggs to catch with the cup, threw raw eggs to catch with the cup, threw cooked eggs to catch with our mouth -- everyone in our group laughed coz it was funny watching us all getting (or being made to look) silly. I said to myself, 'im too old for this sh+!t'.
