Big Bell
Once a bustling place, sadly now a ghost town. Well worth a visit to just see how large the hotel was for a small town. Rumoured to have had Australia’s longest bar. Little respect given by some visitors to the site - rubbish, vandalism and graffiti.

The ghost town at Big Bell great place to visit when stopping over in Cue lots of history lovely old ruins to explore great pic opportunities however be mindful the road in is heavily corrugated we struggled in our 2WD motorhome wet weather didn’t help either had to abandon heading off to Walga Rock as road was bad would’ve taken us two hours to do 24 k one way so will have to give that one a miss unfortunately..

Large area for overnight camps. No facilities but its free so no complaints here. Best to be on outskirts of ruins so history can remain without further destruction. It's a little sad to see house slabs, connected to footpaths and garden bed outlines, left to decay when they were someones pride and joy not so very long ago. Its mindblowing to think a town this size can just peeter out!

Love this place, drove up from Albany just to photograph the town. Sad to see the reopened mining operations have graded a road up against the historic hotels fence, now every 45mins a massive truck with 4 trailers shakes the foundations 24hrs around the clock. This hotel is crumbling fast with every truck passing. We were camped here for 2 days, found it disconcerting that at sunset while bbq'ing tea our dogs became aware of movement towards the glow of sunset. A scabby prospector" with a rifle on his back and a backpack and pick had sneaked up to our camp to spy on us. Luckily the dogs had spotted him

Absolutely an amazing Ghost Town, to see it in it's glory days would have been spectacular and very worth while place to see. Either stay at Cue or camp out at Big Bell. Walk the streets and imagine life back then. Few other remains around

An amazing ghost town to spend the day exploring.Plenty of places to set up and camp for the night, no facilities (its a remote ghost town lol)The old hotel is the star of the show, but its worth while spending some time to look at all the other ruins around the old town.

Well worth the visit. An absolutely amazing REAL ghost town. Its isolated location means it's relatively untouched. The Big Bell Hotel is still standing solid and makes a great photo opportunity. You can stay at either Cue, Mount Magnet, or Meekatharra - or camp out under the stars near the town itself. The road out to the site is unsealed but in good condition; a 2 wheel drive will do it without any trouble. This is also a great place to bring a metal detector. I found a few interesting artefacts around the place just under the surface - including an old plate from the front of a fridge.

As far as ghost towns go this has got some interesting history! Few standing buildings and interesting sites with information plaques to help! It was a massive town at one stage and it didn’t last long! It’s sad to see the big hotel in such disrepair. But enjoy the sites and take in all the history be careful driving around the old townsite lots of rubble and debris we had no issues but just be careful and take it all in have a good look around!

Remains of an old town, nothing special. Some old buildings restored for tourists but nothing too interesting.
