Pomponderoo Hill Nature Walk

A beautiful short walk with lovely wild flowers

Very short sandy walk up and down a very gentle slope. It can be hot so carrying water is a good idea. We saw lots of wildflowers in the early summer and many small trees: banksias, stringybarks and she-oaks. The lookout is really nice - 360 degree view of this special desert full of plant life.There is easy parking right next to the walk starting point where you can grab a Nature walk flyer from a box - very handy for explaining what you see while walking along 10 numbered markers.As this is part of the Little Desert National Park, no dogs are allowed. There are no restrooms here and no picnic areas.The restrooms and picnic tables are a short drive back to Wimmera River, in the Horseshoe Bend campground which is a beautiful spot for cooling off in the criver and picnicking.

Wonderful short walk and view of the Little desert national park. Easy drive in and highly worthwhile visiting.

What a great little self guided walk with beautiful wildflowers. Need more guide sheets in the box though.

Nice and easy short walk

Walk on packed and soft sand up to the lookout and back to the carpark, surrounded by hardy plants and shy wildlife.
