An interesting, authentic angle exploring the residence of Dobell. Volunteer staff were very knowledgeable and the site was well presented.

Artist William Dobell's long time home, well preserved with plenty of info signage around the building. Entry fee charged towards preservation - enthusiastic volunteer guides on hand. Steep stairs to his studio at the top but the rest on ground level with one interior step

I was with a group of about 45 people. We had the place to ourselves as they were not open to the public as they opened just for us. It was highly informative, and the 3 volunteers were truly knowledgeable on all things Dobell. The volunteers went out of their way to make our visit pleasant.

Renowned artist William Dobell's house where he actually lived, lends itself to his famous artworks displayed in a picturesque setting on the banks of Lake Macquarie.Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the informative information our friendly tour guides provided.

I highly recommend this part of Australian history in the true arts and its lovely ambience. Bill chose this place for a reason and let's hope its peacefulness is preserved.
