To the potential home builder please question the tradesmen who Impressions use prior to choosing a build with them. We've been in our home for over 2.5 years and I writing this review because the joy and novelty of moving into our house in 2016 is no longer clouding my judgement. Why now you ask? Well... I was sitting in a room and the morning light was shining on our corridor wall that was illuminating the poor quality of the plastering.I was initially ok with this plastering 2 years ago because I didn't really know any better. Being in and out of new homes that friends have built since, I've come to realise that we received a low level of craftsmanship when it came to this.On the other hand, there were positive experiences with Impressions too.We found the home salesman (Neil Boyd) to be very professional and knowledgeable. This was also backed up by a friendly Building Supervisor (Peter Glencross) after the first was laid off for being incompetent we heard. The price of our home was competitive and Impressions did offer better floor plans than other builders at the time we felt. During the construction phase the Admin/Customer Liason Consultant was prompt & organised with replying with any query we had.The 'ball' was dropped with the Pre-Start Consultant who appeared to be irritated and rushed with us. I am sure there are instances like language barriers that bring about this sort of mood on the consultant, however we were organised with what we wanted & spoke perfect English.Prior to key hand over we had raised our concerns with the plastering and Impressions were good in getting another Plasterer in. We discovered that the 2nd Plasterer was at the house for a further 2 days fixing the original job. Even after this though the final product was still precariously mediocre. We decided to hold off on voicing our concern the 2nd time because we didn't want to hinder the progress of our build and we thought our upcoming DYI paint job would mask the trouble areas of the plastering. As it was, we spent much of our time sanding uneven plastering prior to applying the paint in areas that were particularly substandard. We were happy with our choices of going with the 3 Step Cornices and Coffered Recessed Ceiling in the theatre. The long hallway with high ceilings & sky light was also a good decision to go with for those considering this. Our home has these stand out features so it is a shame that the plastering continues to tarnish these positive points.Regards, Darwin.

My partner and i looked at several different builders, got close to signing with 2 of them, then we came across impressions and I'm glad we did because they looked after us from day 1. Nathan Gerrard has been our sales consultant and i can honestly say he has been fantastic and has helped us out in every way possible. if you're building a house we recommend you look him up. my partner and i dealt with 'shark' salesman in display villages that would lie and say anything to get your money. when we were dealing with Nathan there was no pressure, he changed our house around to how we wanted it and still got us the best deal! best thing we did was finding impressions and most of all finding a genuine sales consultant who made our process painless and exciting.

We recently sold our impressions house we built and had the worst experience with them. The buyers had a building inspection carried out - few non compliances were highlighted from the build - I'm talking about missing head flashing over our brickwork that's required where there are no eaves to redirect water to the external wall in case the gutter overflow - its an Australian NCC building standard. So the new buyers obviously want this rectified before settlement - no worries.Emailed impressions- yep we will send an inspector over. Impressions inspector completed - no non compliances found.Ok - I want evidence - surely if you came to my house to inspect it - you would have some record that its built to Australian spec. Impressions could not share any evidence or photo - because it was 'their property'. ( it didn't exist that's why)So I emailed again saying I'm not satisfied by the response, they then sent me performance solution plans that showed how the construction was complaint to the NCC. I read them, then took screenshots of the clause where is states capping is not required where the eaves exceed 460mm (we literally had no eaves just gutter up to the external brick) so that exemption does not comply to us and threatened to escalate to the commission dept. They wrote an email stating that the eaves have been installed in accordance to the building contract/plans and no further action would be taken. So I got up in the roof, took pictures of the cavity showing no head flashing and filed a notion to submit a complaint against Impressions. They arranged the head flashing to be installed the next day and was completed in a timely matter. I asked for a picture of the completed works ...they never sent one. Probably because it didn't get done to aus standard if at all.I just wanted a piece of paper to give to the seller to say it was done so I could make settlement and walk away. All this took over a week to resolve and around 10 emails back and forth which is the last thing you want when your trying to move house.Very shady company - I couldn't believe the resistance

We built with Impressions and now been in our home for 6 months. We havent had any major issues with home maintenance just some minor stuff which was quickly fixed. We had nothing but great service, the team was very helpful, flexible and always resolved any issues we had along the way.Impressions has been very reasonable with pricing for such great quality. They simply beat the price then all the other builders we have been too.We are extremely impressed and happy. We would definitely recommend them.

I am building with Impressions and so far my experience has been great. Gail was very informative and helpful and made sure I had the best possible house design. For pre-start I had Jess who was very helpful and professional and made the whole process as stress free as possible. Would definitely recommend and am very excited for a quality build.

Not impressed, mainly DEPRESSED.The amount of defects that had been attempted to hide was unbelievable, the supervisor I had to deal with was rude, we still had tradespeople coming into our house every weekend to fix up items after one year of supposed completion. Our front door is still not weatherproof after having been changed out for a new one to keep the sand and water from coming through when the door was shut.I have a folder full of photos of defects as evidence to prove that this a legitimate trade qualified disgruntled customer.

Impressions are impressive. Sorry about the pun but it is true. This is my 5th build (first with Impressions) and the best and easiest build ever. There were no issues during construction apart from discontinued laminex and flooring but that wasn't Impressions fault. The supervisor was on the ball and at the end of the construct he ensured we got handover as quickly as possible. Both construction and finish are to a very high standard. We have no issues at all and that is surprising with a house build.Well done Impressions.

Built my investment property through them and was happy with the overall experience.- Very helpful sales reps who offer thoughtful designs for all types of blocks- Excellent Client Liaison who is easily contactable via phone and email- Efficient pre-start process- Good inclusions for the money- Guided through the whole process- Improvements could be made about final build quality however none were a major issue. To be rectified in maintenance period.

I built my Second home with Impressions and it was a smooth run all the way from the start, The design and price fit our profile and we only made a few changes to the plan which ended up costing a little more but still in our budget. The whole thing took 12 months just a couple of weeks over what we were told so it was within bounds. I now build all my investment properties thru Impressions and highly recommend them
