I'm so thankful to toora and all the amazing women that work there, very informed and caring staff, I felt supported and valued both during and after my time there, I've gone from rock bottom to beginning to have a life that I didn't believe possible , couldn't have done it without them

I’m very grateful for the fact that I was given a house, but I did not have a good experience. All they cared about was having a clean house, and by clean I mean SPOTLESS! To people with mental health issues sometimes having a spotless house is the last thing on their mind. I still suffer flash backs from the experiences and still to this day have to remind myself that I can clean in my own time and not have someone basically intruding on my persona space once a week to do thorough ‘inspections’ they would go into my room and look around which made me feel like I was being belittled. It honestly felt like I owed them for housing me. They were trying to rush me out into a housing place and would even comment on my personal items saying I had ‘way too much stuff’. I have three child and was in the house for over a year. Would NOT recommend anyone to go with these people! Nothing was ever good enough in their eyes.

Poor service that is not a trauma informed service, made me feel disempowered and powerless. Would not recommend.

I have been a client of Toora Womens Inc since June 2020. I have received such fantastic support in my journey with weekly counselling, case management & groups. I am now studying a Diploma in Community Service which will equip me to re enter the workforce and in turn help the broken woman who believe in her just as Toora believes in me. Thank you for helping me find my way Toora. I am the woman I am today because of your vision & belief in me.

Staff belittle the women they are supposed to protect and encourage, not trauma informed and not a good place for women to recover and feel safe.

Booted me out after 8 months of living here asking about another Indigenous woman because I felt left out in the house. Was getting blamed for other people's wrongdoings and the rest of the women wouldn't help do the chores around the house.Saw the Indigenous Coordinator" twice whilst engaging with them
