Very worried about the lack of contact and organisation with my daughters upcoming wedding. It is only 4 weeks away and they don't answer emails or ring you back when they say. I am hoping that on the day all is perfect as it is causing her unnecessary anxiety. She chose this place because of the beautiful setting and building.

Attended the boozy hot choc high tea on Sunday. Requested that my hot choc have less alcohol in it, was informed that it was pre-made so this was not possible. Later I asked if there was non-alcoholic hot choc available and was told no. I then asked another server who gave me a perplexed look and said 'it's kids' hot choc'. I do not appreciate being lied to and belittled.The staff was also very disorganised, with one unable to switch the blowtorch (used for torching the marshmallows) on and off properly and waving it around while still on. The food was subpar, would recommend spending your high tea money on San Churros and a nice free walk around the gardens.

Great romantic venue if the weather is on your side!I have read some terrible experiences from some bridal parties. My experience was on the contrary was positive, however a a guest I didn’t deal with the venue management. Atlantic Group as the catering company was great in every sense. They were professional and attentive. I remember the touching gesture of the manager (Vicky?Vanessa?) bringing a tissue to a teary maid of honour in the middle of her speech.If the weather is on your side, there are few venues in Melbourne which can beat this place for its romantic and photogenic appeal. It is set on a green patch of lawn, surrounded by beautiful, large, tall trees, adjacent to an old cottage. We were lucky it was a beautiful day. As it is outdoor, I wonder what happens if it is too hot, or windy, or rainy, or cold - which is always a possibility in Melbourne.Parking is a hassle though as there was no dedicated parking area for guests. You have to take your chance with all other Botanical Garden visitors or hail a cab/Uber instead.

the boozy hot chocolate didn't really taste like alcohol but i really enjoyed the different flavourings — our favourite was definitely the orange and spices dark choc one. the high tea was nothing special in all honesty and the scones were a little bit too brown on the outside but they were super fluffy inside! it's such a pretty venue as well, right in the heart of the botanical gardens.

If you want a photogenic venue, this place is perfect, but be prepared for zero customer service/customer care from the sales representatives at time of booking the venue, to the waiters on the wedding day and then thereafter dealing with their arrogant head office team.If they ever pick up their phone, be prepared to be dealing with different representatives as their staff keep changing and be prepared not to have one single point of contact to plan your wedding. Be prepared for promises that are not delivered, such as having the most experienced Event Coordinator (called Vicky) to host your wedding and then end up with someone else. Be prepared to potentially have a site visit for other clients on the day of your wedding. Be prepared not to eat, as their waiters are too much in a rush to clear the plates. If you are the Bride and Groom, be prepared for your reception speeches to be interrupted by the waiters as they make their way in front of you (and in front of the camera) to serve the entrees, I mean guys, just wait for the speeches to finish... (see our wedding video screenshots below during our reception speeches.... Ruined...)“Lets make it $300, are you paying cash?” were the words of the Operations Manager, Mohammed, after our wedding as he said we had run overtime. For the record, all our guests and suppliers left within the allowed time. I felt like I was “hustled” in the little side office of Gardens House. No invoice was issued, no formality stated, just a payment that I was told “must be settled immediately”.“My world doesn’t revolve around you, all this over just $300” were the words of the General Manager of Operations, Geoff, when I had followed up on the reimbursement of the $300 one week after they said it would be processed immediately. He then hung up the phone on me. Whether he likes it or not, I am a client of Atlantic Group, and his language and behaviour was completely disrespectful and out of line, no one deserves to be spoken to like that, especially as WE are YOUR CLIENTS.Atlantic Group, your clients may just be another number on your spreadsheet but please, please, please remember you are not selling cars or real estate; those things are replaceable. You are selling and dealing with the most precious and important times in people’s lives, be it a wedding, birthdays, baby showers etc and your service needs to reflect that.

Had a terrible experience as a bride here. The venue didn’t inform us about the restrictions related to placing marquees due to a previous wedding ruining the lawn. It was forecast to be raining yet we couldn’t place any marquees due to the grass being under restoration!Lack of communication upfront made this a very disappointing and stressful experience. Would not reccomend despite it being a beautiful venue.
