Sacred Heart Health Service

Thank you to the wonderful staff of Sacred Heart Palliative Care. They provided incredible care for my 98 year old grandfather in his last few weeks of life. The staff were compassionate, caring, sensitive, thoughtful and respective to both my grandfather and the family. We are grateful for all that they have done for us during such a difficult time. Thank you for all your support!

Would not allow immediate family visitors to see a patient they deemed has only 1 more day to live. Ridiculous and insulting, especially given the easing of covid-19 restrictions. When we asked to speak to management, desk staff simply laughed and made us wait outside without calling anyone.

The managers and HR department (Palliative Care - St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, ) don't really look after their staff who are single, they give more night shifts to singles, 12/14 hours without enough sleep and rest and discriminate with those who have babies, this kind of behaviour affecting single hardworking nursing people who are self independent, but Management take advantages may be no one really cares or no one investigated! this is really affecting their mental, physical health and having issue with normal day to day routine. The nursing staff don't complain because they need money and love the jobs but management should understand they have normal life and family..too much night work hours and bad rollester is just not good!!HR must care staff mental health and give everyone an equal opportunity. Thanks

It's a bit strange to have a review for a palliative care hospice rated Loved it" but oddly enough that is exactly how I feel about this place. Four weeks ago I arrived at St Vincent's with a swollen leg and a failing kidney. During the next two weeks the doctors worked to understand the reason for not only the presenting condition but the constant pain I had been in since late last year. Sadly

My experience, following being hit over the head with a hammer, losing sight in one of my eyes, stabbed in the neck, a stroke, and with spinal cord damage, was a lonely one.My stay there only lasted a total of 3 weeks, and I perceived it as though patients were on a production line. In and out - for what I felt was as quick as possible.My mother rang up, concerned I had lost vision in my left eye, and asked Would it be appropriate I called the Royal Blind Society?"
