Southern Cross Atrium Apartments
Roomy studio unit, clean, bit dated but price is better than most. Wifi is 2/10. 2min walk to Cairns Central shopping centre and 14min walk to main restaurant precinct. Value priced accommodation.

We stayed here for 16 nights in August, and we couldn't have picked a better place, The location is excellent, the staff very friendly, the 1 bed pool access is very well equipped with everything you need. A bonus was the heated pool and spa. The bed was very comfy too. Cairns central shopping Centre is right on your door step and the bars and restaurants of Sheridan street a 5 minute walk away and the esplanade a 10 minute. We will definitely be coming back.

Disclaimer: I have not stayed here. I met someone here as a meeting place. That being said...This place is very nice. It is nestled in a small side of the Cairns city mall (Cairns Central), and despite this, is rather peaceful. The waiting room is very relaxing, with air conditioning, comfortable chairs, and numerous fridges with drinks. There is a pool to the left of the reception, with benches, and a bridge to move from one side of the pool to the other.

Great service after midnight being received at that late hour. The service did not stop there in later part of the morning, operation of security and local information being provided. Our first morning gaze out from our balcony, we were surprised by a mountain view whose cap was cover by clouds. Below we saw 3 swimming pools and spa.

Loved staying here. Nice roomy apartment with all the amenities we needed. We loved the pools in particular. Excellent proximity to the shopping complex and didn’t mind the walk down to the Esplanade and Lagoon. Will highly recommend Southern Cross Atrium Apartments to all our friends and family.

My 3rd year back here while holidaying in Cairns. The whole complex is well set out. One star deducted .. My only criticism was some noisy families around the pool quite late on several nights .. and a couple having a domestic dispute using foul language ... this is the first year I haven't been completely happy ...

Southern Cross Atrium Apartments
This was our first proper trip with our toddler so a lot of our decision making for accommodation was based around this. That said, we feel we made the right choice to stay at the Southern Cross Atrium Apartments. It ticked all the boxes in terms of amenities, on site parking, pool and location. Our room was well laid out with all that you would expect from a self contained apartments. Would definitely recommend staying here.

A rather soulless place. A bit far out of town from the nice restaurants and nightlife. So many signs and notices about the place with the rules, saying what you can't do ! And don't park in the management parking bays, whatever you do. The cafe on site has been shut since Covid. Perhaps they should make the effort to open it up again.
