Great walking trail with beautiful view and clean air. We came here late December during summer, we used chairlift 1 day pass from Thredbo. You can get some discount if you buy the pass 7 days earlier. We have got Thredbo cards from prior visit so the pass got loaded up automatically. Carpark at Thredbo got filles up quickly, so be there as early as possible. We reached there around 9.30am and already difficult to find carpark. We head straight to Eagle Nests. There is a toilet near the restaurant after you got off from the chairlift.Make sure you pack enough water, some snacks and a jacket. The temperature at the bottom was around 25degree, but above the chairlift is quite cool and windy. We had to wear our jacket, although i noticed some people are fine with T-shirt and short. The walk was quite easy and we did it with my 6-year old son. We stopped few times to rest, drink and snack whilst enjoying the view. We reached the lookout within 1 hour and had our lunch picnic before heading back to Eagle Nest. Walk back was descending and quite easy and quick. We were lucky to still have some snow and great weather. Overall had a great day and walk.

Awesome walk, very easy trail all the way up, the path was about 1.5 meters wide the whole way. I could almost drive a car all the way up,the lake was very underwhelming but i guess it needed more snow to melt into it.TIPS*The lift back down to Thredbo stops at 4:15pm the walk took almost 3hrs non stop or 4hrs with stops, so I wouldn't leave later then midday,* take cold weather gear there was a 10 degree difference from when we left to getting to the top and the wind was chilly* Keep an eye on your bag of chips, due to being less pressure our bag of chips almost popped*the toilet at the base of the mountain smells like death

An easy walk from top of chairlift. 1.8km. Able to view the Mountain Kosciuszko from here, which is 4.5km wall away from this point. Many people stopped here to take a break, snacking, and enjoy the first phase of the beautiful walk up to the summit.

Lookout is just over a kilometres walk from the chairlift. The path is very easy. I saw lots of families going to this lookout but they never continued the summit walk. Even some couples who had tired bodies. It’s a great lookout and there’s a platform for you to take photos at

For those that can't do the whole walk to the top, this is the next best thing. From the top of the chair lift it is a very easy 2km walk to the lookout, all of it on paths or walkways.

The lookout is 1.5 kms from the chair lift. Kids can walk under adult supervision. Make sure they don't run. Amazing walk. Enjoy.
