Not welcoming at all which was sad after a long drive from the Dig Tree. Had dinner at the Oasis across the road instead. Lovely people there.

Bulloo River Hotel Motel
Decided to call in for an afternoon coldy on the way back from our river walk. Met “Surly Shirley” behind the bar...first impressions not great, short and cold to say the least. I tried another angle and have been taught over the years that if you continue to be pleasant even the most hardened will show cracks eventually.I engaged her in small talk and returned our glasses to the bar...finally I received a warm smile and she even thanked me. Not such a hard nut after all.

Bulloo River Hotel Motel
While one of two licensed venues in our small town, the Bulloo pub is home to two of the best bar owners you'll find in Australia. Duck and Shirley are genuine, true blue Aussies who offer the coldest beer on tap and the most filling gourmet pizzas you'll ever find. There is no better place in Australia then the Thargomindah Bulloo River pub.

First pub in Australia that I didn’t feel welcomed, cold interior and very cold grumpy reception from the Lady behind the bar. Couldn’t enjoy by beer, just wanted to get out!

Original Australian country pub. No money notes from around the world pasted on walls, no backpackers serving a three month stint in remote Australia to extend their visa, just a decent pub with owner serving decently priced beer off the tap and asking where you're from. A nice verandah and no gimmicks for the tourists. It doesn't get any better.

Yeah. It’s a pub. The not so happy lady who works there could work on her “welcome face”. Took abit to get the hubby talking to. Not sure why you decide to run a place of hospitality if you are not very hospitable. It’s a shame. These places could have so much potential with the right people running them
