Bribie Island Fort
There are two gun emplacements and some ancillary buildings. The northern searchlight fortification has been mostly demolished and the remnants are now in the surf. The dunes have receded since the forts were constructed, originally behind the dunes. The storms in 2022 have eroded the sand so that they are now on the back of the beach line.

A must do if you can get up the beach.

These turrets have all now been removed. Went up the beach today and they are no longer standing due to the brisbane 2022 floods making them unsafe. Very sad.

The forts were interesting to observe and read about on the provided plaques. However they are in poor condition and are in dire need of restoration for the benefit of their preservation.

Worth a trip up the beach. There are a few different buildings to check out.

Nice to see a slowly disappearing piece of ww2 history after a nice drive up through the middle of the island , lovely natural landscape. Shame some of the fort can't be saved though .
