We were driving to Hawks Nest from Sydney and our car decided to die on us. NRMA sent us to GJ. We had to leave our car there as it was between Christmas and New Years and GJ was closed. We called back and we are so happy and impressed with the professionalism and service given to us. He sold our car for us and got the best amount for it. We highly recommend GJ!

I rate Greg highly. Have had a few cars there over the years and he does not over charge. Latest car I took to Greg for a check over before the warranty expired. He checked it over, found the Merc perfect with just a few rub marks under the front bar, lol. He had the car a couple hours and didn't even charge me for that. Will have her serviced there for sure. Thanks mate, brilliant! Real old time service. 5 stars!

One of my rental cars I own was towed to this workshop by the NRMA, while I was overseas.I emailed them straightaway, advising I was overseas, and asked for a quote. For whatever reason, that email was allegedly never received, despite it appearing in my “sent items” and not bouncing back.I eventually contacted them, and asked them to proceed with repairs, I paid the bill straightaway, through the instant Osko payment system, meaning they receive the money straightaway.I phoned back, the person I spoke to confirmed they received my payment, and we agreed, that the car would be left outside over the weekend, locked up, as I’ll collect the car at 0730, outside their business hours, with my spare keys.When I arrived at 0730 on Monday morning, the car wasn’t outside, which was disappointing, but I was happy to wait 30 minutes if needed.I simply stepped out of my friends car near the front door, and proceeded to remove my back pack from my fiends car, when the owner of the business came out and started abusing me stating “can’t you read, we don’t open until 8am!”I advised him on what was discussed regarding leaving the car out, so I could collect it overnight. The owner now lied regarding not receiving the instant osko payment some 3 days earlier, and told me to go away and come back. I suggested to him this wasn’t a good way to speak to a customer, and I’ll be leaving a review.Being Monday morning, I went and got a coffee, and thought I’d give this charter a chance to redeem himself, and try and talk to me like a human, especially as I’m in the trade myself, and this kind of behavior isn’t good for our trade.This sent him right off, he continued to abuse me, for every reason under the sun, including referring to my car as a “2 bob car” and justifying his discusting behavior by stating he has someone dying in his family.Before visiting this business, ask yourself if you really want someone so emotionally unstable due to family issues working on your steering, brakes and suspension, I certainly don’t.

I can't thank these guys enough. My daughter and I were looking to buy a cheap 4cyl car for me to get to work and for her to learn manual transmission driving in.We took it down to GJ Mechanics for a fit for sale check. Their opinion saved us from making an expensive mistake! And they were able to squeeze us in to help us out. Highly recommended!

Don't shop around for quotes if you do do not tell G J mechanics.I booked my car in for an oil leak, my son died, I had to cancel, I did the right thing rang up and cancelled, I went there again for a misfiring engine, a mechanic quoted me, i booked the car in, then cancelled it because the mechanic said do it yourself it isn't hard and half the price. I went there 3rd time and asked a mechanic to help me remove a headlight spring , a 1 minute job, I was going to install a headlight globe, he said no time.They don't get my approx $2,000 now.

We saw Greg as our Crafter's engine lights started flashing while travelling.He attended us first thing in the morning and gave us 20 minutes of his time plugging in the computer, doing analyses and trying to fix the problem. We could not fix the issue with him as it would have meant to leave the car over the weekend. However, his professional and friendly attitude would make us comeback for sure.

Unexpectedly had to visit GJ Mechanical Service when my brake pads caused issues whilst driving. Even though I had no booking, they kindly took my car as it was unsafe to continue driving it, and replaced the brake pads quickly and for a reasonable price. Excellent communication and service.

An excellent repair Shop with reasonable pricing. Went above and beyond to get my car running again within a limited time frame, after an unexpected breakdown. Friendly staff who were easy to understand and work with.
