Currimundi Lake
Great spot for families. There's a sheltered lake" that often has knee/waist high water for most of the width (though there are deeper parts that can be close to the side

Excellent beach! The lake is connecting to the ocean at this point and converting to a river while low or high tides.

Hands down my favourite beach / swimming spot in Queensland. The tidal waters make for various fun aspects to this location. At low tide a small creek type flow is left along the northern cliffs where you can float and jump off the cliffs. The large sand area in the middle is left over to relax and play on. As the tide comes in, large areas get slowly covered in shallow but rising water for splashing and swimming in the clear water. If you want a change, the surf is just metres away with shells lining the beach.

Probably my favourite spot from the Caloundra to Alexandria Headlands stretch! If you’re on the SC and getting bored of beach after beach- DO veer off the beaten track to this lovely lakeside (which is also a beach). Not busy at all, just some locals around enjoying a day of good weather with their kids catching yabbies in the shallow waters. The water is so shallow that you can’t drown in it (probs only reaches my ankles??) whats most unique is for how far into the lake you can walk at ankle length depth. Makes for REALLY nice photos and is just overall stunning to stand in the middle of the lake surrounded by a reflective lake.Wish I brought my swimmers so I could lie on the lake and just bask in the peacefulness. Note- it’s actually a great spot for sunbathers, the sand dune up top leading to the beach covers the wind so you can enjoy the warm sun without sand whipping you.

One of our favourite swimming spots on the coast! The kids love to jump from the higher sandy ledge into the deeper water. When the tides out the water can be quite shallow in some places which is great for the smaller children. Friends brought their kayaks and SUP and had a great time. There's lots of different areas to explore and even set up. There's the grassy areas along the banks going inland which are great for the shade in summer and then there's the sandy beach which has calm waters for those wanting to just relax and not catch waves. A great spot for families.

Calm water, usually warmer than sea water. Looks like a swimming pool, but more fun. On weekends it can be quite crowded, but there is so much space that you never feel overcrowded. Great for families with children. There are showers and toilets and of course bbq stations.

Great location for SUP and kayaking. We were fortunate enough to see a group of stingrays while SUP! There is quite a bit of seating and picnic spaces around the lake, including BBQ's. There are also heaps of bush turkeys around the lake which are really cute and friendly.

One of the great beach point for kids to enjoy shallow water swim point, fishing, shrimp catching and stand up boarding. Not so easy parking up close but street parking is available for abit of walk.Near by Cafe is also a good source for food when deciding to stay for the day.Beach side wash up, toilets and change room facilities are available.
