Papilio Early Learning Turner

My daughter has been coming to this childcare here since she was 8 months old and now she is 19 months old. We absolutely love her developmental progress up till now. Me and daddy are amazed how wonderfully she has settled so far now and enjoys throughout the day with friendly staff who has literally mastered the art of engaging with children so well and make them feel comfortable exactly how they feel at home.

Papilion has been AMAZING for us. After enrolling our daughter in one of those famous, highly demanded inner north centres with ages of waitlist we were greatly dissatisfied. The whole experience was a awful. Having super low expectations we joined papilion accepting childcare was just going to be a dreadful experience. Surprise, papilion has been INCREDIBLE. Our girl is in the tiny tots and I can’t speak highly enough of the educators. As an example my daughter was still fed to sleep and I was quite worried about her naps at childcare - They rocked her to sleep!! Just amazing. The hours, the playground, the location, carers, admin, activities. 10/10

Papilio Turner has been very welcoming to myself as a new educator at their centre, management always listen when one of their educators have a problem they want to bring up, I am always excited to come in and see what the children’s reaction to the activity’s we have planned. It is absolutely amazing to see how excited the children are to come in every day and to see their educators!

This centre has gone downhill significantly in every way since it transitioned to Papilio at the start of 2022 and came under management from Affinity Education Group. There are massive issues with staff leaving (even the centre management has had enough) and I feel like despite the best efforts of those that remain (who are genuinely caring) there just isn't enough support and resources. Most of the rooms don't even have much in the way of toys in them anymore!! Unless there are massive improvements over the next few months we will be pulling our children out and sending them somewhere else. The only reason we haven't done it sooner is because its so disruptive to the kids. We are not alone in feeling this way. Many other parents we've spoken to are also very unhappy with Papilio and are likewise intending to move their kids to other centres ASAP. If you are considering sending your kids here I strongly suggest you rethink or alternatively make all possible enquiries into how Affinity intends to improve the centre and what measures they are absolutely committed to implementing.UPDATE: I feel I should post an update to acknowledge the work that has been done by the centre to address the concerns I previously outlined. After what was a pretty rocky 6 month or more transition the centre has improved immensely from my previous review and is now in pretty good shape. Staffing is pretty stable and they have done a lot of work to make the rooms fun and engaging for the kids again. The kids are enjoying it gain.

Papilio have made the transition for my daughters new daycare to my sons first really easy. my daughter settled in quickly and liked her educators, remembering their names in the first few days to the point she was excited to goto school. My son being new to a public setting took some time to adjust but I felt like he was in safe hands. Now, a few months later he doesn't even say goodbye to me when I drop him off he just wants to get into the room to play. Papilio have been great with filling me in on their food and sleep each day and have kept me upto date via story park regularly .

What can we say about this centre, but that they have gone above and beyond to make our children feel welcomed and loved. They have made an effort to understand their personalities, likes and dislikes and know how to make them feel settled and happy throughout the day. My children have made secure attachments with the educators and know that they will be there to comfort them when mummy has to go to work and will be there to give them lots of cuddles. We are so grateful for the effort they have put in.

I completely echo the recent review that this centre has gone downhill since sale to Affinity. Despite management’s best efforts, it seems they are not getting guidance, or if they are it is not being communicated to parents, about any basic policies such as fees in case if centre requested absence or what happens in case of staff sickness/shortage. Management and staff have been leaving since the sale, especially those who have been with the centre since the beginning, meaning a huge loss of experienced staff who have corporate knowledge. Morale is at an all time low and this flows onto the children in a negative manner. Really disappointing that it has come to this. I do suggest parents get honest insight into recent developments before sending their kids here.

My daughters love Papilio in Turner. The educators are all so kind and caring. They know every child’s name and greet them every morning, even if they aren’t in their room. It reassuring to know they are so cared for and well looked after throughout the day. Would highly recommend this centre!

I was so nervous having my daughter start childcare but Papilio made it so easy and kept my mind at ease, she loves it there.Everyday they do all sorts of activities helping them learn without even knowing it.Since my daughter moved from the nursery into tiny toddlers I have noticed so much change. They always have the most yummy meals and she always gets excited when we walk in. All the staff are always so welcoming.
