Marina Resort

Stayed at Marina Resort for a mini break recently with the family. Stayed on 2nd floor and the view was amazing. Beds are nice and comfy, room was clean and tidy. The staff were excellent, especially Martina and Nadine, who went out of their way to make sure all our requests were met. Will definitely be back and the kids hope to see Cooper there when we return.

This place is lovely and clean. And the view is the icing on the cake. We stayed at the Queen and Single room on the 2nd floor and the King size room on the 3rd floor and both are nice and clean. I love the smell of their shower gel and shampoo so no need to worry about bringing your own. The beds are comfortable and the room is big enough with a table and chairs. The balcony faces the beautiful view of Nelson Bay. The pool is clean and well kept. This place is only 3 minute walk to the town centre and the beach. Unfortunately the restaurant don’t cater for dinner so we booked a table at The Nelson Way. Breakfast at the hotel would have been great because you’ve the view to look at while you’re eating but the time was a bit too early for us, 7:30 - 9:30 and we want to go body boarding very early first so we booked at The Nelson Way again for breakfast. Overall, I’ll definitely recommend this place.

The Resort is at a great location with some good views. The resort is dated but rooms are clean. The pool is not maintained and our child wanted to use the pool however it was dirty and on requesting the reception to clean the pool, someone came out with a net removed few leaves and left. The resort had informed us about complimentary breakfast for Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM when we checked in on Saturday, however when we went for breakfast at 8:30 AM today on Monday the breakfast was closed and we were not let in though there were a whole lot of others we could see are seated in, there was a board kep ehich read Breakfast now closed and all food was taken away too, there was no on even there whom we could ask a question . We had an average experience

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Online photos misleading, some are even fake. Bedding was stained. Used soap and hair left on the shower. Teaspoons caked in food. Lounge had a massive stain. Owners became defensive when approached. Stayed one night with no other option, absolutely disgusting and would not recommend. AVOID!

We had 3 rooms on ground floor, 1st and 2nd floor, all the rooms with water view. The beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The hotel was old, but well maintained. The staff were friendly and we enjoyed our time there. The only problem was that the bathrooms didn’t have ventilation.

So after this review when we were checking outThe person at reception who I think is also the owner was so rude to us, she litetally shouted and screamed at us for the review and said we were uncalled for. Well good luck running a hotel business by providing shoddy facilities for price you charge (read $400 a night) fighting with your guests and think the guests are uncalled for. Worst place to stay. Please save yourself and your good holiday by avoid staying here at all.Unfortunately, there is nothing below 1 star and also beware the owners also fight and lie in the comments

Welcoming reception and very helpful. Nice rooms, clean. Weekend breakfast superb value. Ideal position over looking the sea.

2 night stay away with a friend, room on the 1st floor was spacious and everything was clean and all in good working order. The water pressure in the shower was great, and ample hot water. Beds were comfortable.The reason why I only gave 3 stars was the age of the property and the website photos, it shows amazing sea views but we had a partial view- lower level with a big tree blocking the view so saw mainly the pool area which was noisy when being used. It’s a very tired and dated property and was disappointed with the stay considering how pricey it is. We used the pool once and there was a dead animal smell which made us gag more than once and get out. The pool towel set up is so funny- you have to sign the towel in and out, one per person, and if you want another you have to pay $5!

This may be an older resort but it has been maintained well and the staff were customer focused. Our room was clean, fresh and tidy. There were evacuation procedures and clear instructions on how to use the items in the room. We had a separate bath to the shower, and the bathing products were lovely. We had a veiw of the ocean and resort pool. Location of the resort was great, it was quiet and we were in walking distance of the marina, resaurants and cafe's. We would gladly stay there again, far better than the Bel Air on Broadbeach at the Gold Coast thats for sure.

Lovely resort..large rooms very clean with magnificent views. The staff were always pleasant and very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come again. Thank you all.
