Following a mix up with directions we ended up at Einasleigh on our way to the Cobbold Gorge...and what a fantastic mix up it was. John and his family at the pub are the definition of country/outback hospitality. Beers icy cold and food was second to none. Ended the night around the Pub's camp fire. Will forever be a highlight on our trip. Gorge across the road is awesome as is Fran's Copperfield Lodge Caravan Park.

Recently visited Copperfield Gorge.Looked like a lovely place however my wife and 5yo son were terrified by the large white dog that would not leave them alone.I've since heard it belongs to the pub, even though we were at the beach in the gorge.I like to support small towns, but you have to make it appealing to visitors and make them feel safe. This spoilt our visit and I cannot recommend.

Good old pub, heaps of age and charachter to go with it. A travelling local came and had a yarn about side tippers, gold, side tippers, adani, side tippers and some more side tippers. Good bloke and the lady at the bar was heaps good, another local bloke with dogs, tats, a mullet and high top boots tried to sell me a motorbike jacket which was very friendly of him. We could of stayed for hours but we had to hit the road.

Didn't stay here but our RV had broken down about 15km down the road. Needed to use the pubs phone which was no problem. Eventually all was okay with RV and returned to say thanks ... and have lunch. Had a great steak sandwich on gluten free bread ... the GF options were surprising. This was popular and busy lunchtime stopover. Thank you to country pubs and hospitality.

Just stopped for a couple of beers, I love these types of pubs, every item tells a story. And the old photos even make it better.Great service with a smile.Would love to spend more time here... Copperfield gorge is a must see just across the road.

This is a really interesting place to stay at...very old original pub...rum ratio is 7 to one can of coke (I learned this here)...Friendly owner and staff and other customers...Great night's sleep and no visit by ghost although doors to my room flew open during the night (probably the wind!!!)... absolutely, a place to visit....Nice dinner of rice and curry sausage.....pub interior unique and out of time plus fascinating miniature dolls house.

Location, in the middle of nowhere, outlook to die for. A great pub in outback Australia. I believe it is a couple running the place (can't get staff) who were slammed at lunch and did a fantastic job. As for the person who were critical of the white dog, get a life, friendly and part of the experience. BTW there is another black kelpie dog owned by the pub who sat with us over lunch and didn't want any of our food. She become a good in an hour. Well done to the whole set up. Just remember where you are.
