The Bay Cafe
Good old fashioned food with rich sauces and tasty morsels. I would never have stepped foot inside from the look of the facade if it wasn’t for a friend’s recommendation. The front has pieces fallen off and looks dirty but inside is spotless, it’s BYO and very friendly service with a good value set menu.

Went there for our Anniversary as we do every year.We both ordered steak asked for medium rare more on the rare side.Meal delivered both steaks cooked well done ,I sent mine back was offered another which I declined.Hubby only ate his because he was starving but should have sent it back too.Next day I contacted restaurant to tell them again how poor the food was.I left my number was told it would be given to Peter the owner.I’m still waiting for his call !!Will never eat there again very poor .

Was really nice. Service was great, the food was pretty nice, some of the seafood had been frozen tho.The restaurant was very unassuming. For a fancy restaurant, I thought it would have more atmosphere.On the whole, was a nice night with some tasty food.

WOW - What an amazing experience. Wednesday, my beautiful friends had to cancel their wedding reception for 60 guests for that Saturday night. They booked the next best thing which was a table at The Bay Cafe for the wedding party, only to find out just after the wedding, dinner at the restaurant was cancelled due to Covid restrictions. What a scamble. The owner went above and beyond to provide three amazing seafood platters for our takeaway wedding reception at home. Beautifully presented, fresh and delicious. Thank you for such an amazing, helpful experience that we will never forget. These are extremely hard times for all in the catering industry. Thanks again for helping the night to be a success.

We had a blackout from a storm just after we ordered but the chefs did a fabulous job in stressful circumstances and managed to feed everyone in the restaurant by candlelight. The meals were excellent and a good size too.

The Bay Cafe was absolutely incredible. The seafood was so fresh, the waitress was wonderful to us, and the restaurant is quiet and calm. Some of the best seafood I've ever had.

My partner and I ordered the seafood platter which was $210. The platter was horrible and we were so disappointed, it was our anniversary. The lobster was disgusting and the crab had a horrible weird taste and there was a heap of fruit to bulk it up. For $210 it shouldn't be bulked up with fruit. If the seafood was nice we probably wouldn't had cared but it was the worst seafood we have ever had. The staff were nice & friendly but the food was a total and utter disappointment. The reason I am leaving this review is to try & save other couples from spending $210 and being so disappointed. I'm not sure what the other food is like, we only had the seafood platter and it's the first time we have eatin there.
