Wirilda Environment Park

Terribly disappointed after reading reviews, rundown, so overgrown, dirty, terrible one track in, has toilets didn't go near them though, didn't do photos drive straight in and straight out

Stayed here over Easter, A very nice and quiet place, feels like you could be in the middle of nowhere even though you are only 20 minutes from Traralgon, Volunteers do a great job running this place, the water (shallow part of river) as well as walking tracks, the grass camping sites were great as was the free electric BBQ's, the only downside for me was the toilets (quite dark inside during the day) but still well worth the $5 per night and I will definitely go back.

Highly recommend, this is the best bushwalk local to Traralgon.Beautiful park, weeds and trail are well maintained. There are obstacles along the trail and it is quite challenging in sections. Hiking with the sights and sounds of the river is awe inspiring. There are many spots where the trail comes close enough that you could have a dip, one section even has steps down.Close to the pumping station is a camp ground, which costs $5/night (per car I think) with a toilet and BBQs. However no fires are allowed at any time. I plan to come back and have an overnight stay on a warm night.My only negative is that the road into the park needs some TLC, it's gravel and has many large potholes and eroded sections. If it weren't for that, I'd give it 5 stars.

I can understand why some might be disappointed by this park. It would be easy to judge by appearance but you'd be doing a great disservice.Its a beautiful spot filled with wonderful plant and bird life. Its a photographers delight. I spent much longer here than I thought. It has facilities such as a electric BBQ and bush tiolets. You can easily spend the day or an overnight stay. Its only $5 a night. It would do with some pot holes been filled in and abit of a clean up but that doesn't distract from its overall beauty and wonder.

Very beautiful place. The walking track can be very narrow in some spots. Plenty of grassed areas for a picnic and a rotunda with barbecue and picnic tables.Toilets are drop toilets.Definitely be back.

Lovely place for a picnic and a walk. Undercover BBQ area with divided picnic tables and toilets and a grassed area to play or camp.There are steps down to a small weir near the pumping station and walking trails to enjoy our Aussie bush

Beautiful walk and swimming in the river. Some parts better for kids than others. The track is quite narrow but well worn, the red box track is not well worn so take care!

Great place for a relaxing walk or a swim in the river.

Beautiful BBQ area great river to swim in. Take rubbish home with you. If you look after this place they will look after you.
