I was told about a young mareema at the shelter I was from Anna Bay so we drove up and had a look at her and brought her home with us she has take to the family really well. Jesse is really protective of the family which is really good we have gone on a couple of walks to the beach and she really likes it . Other dogs bark at her and runs around her and she just ignores them how good is that .thank you for finding us such a wonderful dog. From MWH

I adopted an older cat that was handed in recently and I cannot speak highly enough of this place. Run by council, but they rehome basically 100% of their animals and they take care of every single one with love and passion. The staff are wonderful, they keep the place basically spotless and we have so many lovely locals rescuing so many special pets. 5 stars! Definately adopt through them. It's so rewarding.

Absolutely appalled by the service presented by the man that I spoke to this morning. Said that an examination was done on my cat after he had been brought in but couldn't explain why he now can't walk on his paw, also had no idea that my cats neck was covered in scratches and bites. He then proceeded to tell me that the incident must of occured after they released him back to us even though he was put in a cage and taken straight home.

We recently enquired on a litter of Kelpie puppies that had been surrendered. The staff were super knowledgeable and helpful. We introduced the puppies to to our dog and the staff were very accommodating to our needs. The grounds were clean and dry and the puppies were very well looked after, you could tell they had formed a safe bond with the staff. I am happy to know that this establishment will assist in re-homing animals from the area in a safe and well cared for manner. Excellent job guys!!

I am absolutely disgusted with these people. My husband was told he could adopt a dog that was surrended. He was so excited he got the permit and filled 8, 20 litre drums of diesel to make the trip safely. He then received a phone call 24 hours later to advise him that someone else had adopted him with no apology. How bloody rude and disrespectful

The Port Macquarie Animal shelter is run by a lovely team of people, who are understanding caring and very helpful. The shelter was very clean, it was very clear the animals are well looked after. We love our new rescue cat Noah; he is so cuddly and sweet. Thanks heaps guys
