Mount Crawford Forest Information Centre
Don't really know how to rate it, but certainly disappointed after coming on a Saturday morning to camp and being turned away by the ranger due to all sites being full. There is no way to book, and no warning online that the sites can fill up quickly on a long weekend. So there we were: 2 kids, 2 dogs and a full suv and wondering whether to go home. Off to the Riverland (hopefully something there- fingers crossed).

Yes, it's an information centre, it's usually closed and don't expect them to post you out a years pass ($50) if you pay for one. Pretty lax really

Arrived Thursday at 10am, doors closed. Lights off. So we’ll called the number on door, man answer and said no we’re closed. Even though websites and all information says there open. So inconvenient and annoying

I expected the usual disinterest one gets from public servants as I entered the office. What I got was astounding!!The Ranger Bruno and the lady behind the desk, forgive me her name, were overwhelmingly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful beyond my wildest dreams. All I wanted were a couple of scratch maps of a bit of the forest. What I got was a detailed description of the entire set up and high quality maps of the whole thing. I'm still shaking my head at the level of service these two workers showed. They truly are a credit to their department and a beacon to the tourist industry in this state. This is not ironic, but totally sincere.
