Hose Tree
From the time mother nature rained a lot in the Hunter catchment earlier this year and brought this noteworthy attraction into existence via the floodwaters, I've marvelled at just how this can happen. It truly is a hose, stuck in a tree, and not just a rope as we first thought. It's visible from Dunolly bridge and for those who want a closer look you can access it by a short walk along the riverbank from Civic Park, or for the more adventurous, down the bank from the Dunolly Bridge flood gauge observation point. Marvel at how it floats majestically in the river when it's high enough, and then just lays there, drier when the river is at fleeting at it's normal height. I wonder how long it will remain here? I feel lucky to have experienced this freak of nature. Check it out before it's gone forever!
