Middle Head – Gubbuh Gubbuh

Historical site and great views of Sydney harbour,North and South Head.

I really enjoyed exploring all the bunkers here, had a great time with my friends. Anyone who loves exploring I would definitely recommend going and checking the place out. If your lucky someone will have either have removed the door or cut the fence blocking the entrances to the restricted sections.

A fascinating part of Sydney’s history. From 1801 to the mid 1970’s at the end of the Vietnam war, Muddle ahead was an active military base. The military moved out the in the 90’s and the property was handed over to the Harbour Trust. Parts are also part of Sydney Harbour National Park. There are km of walking tracks both through the bush and around the old base. Plus some stunning harbour views.

It's a walk about.. rewarding but utterly depressed that many harmless join tunnels are locked... Gone is the mystery and hello OHS and Insurances... Sydney Harbour foreshore authority could 'come to the party' and open some harmless tunnels back to being open .Middle Head has embattlements and historical war turrets built to keep the Russians out who never came (near Anthol House) this is the same area that had Mission Impossible 2 house on the harbour. From the view point that is the inside turn in the harbour from the city to the ocean.WW2 embattlements are on the Middle Head propose and face the sound.There is a walk from Taronga Zoo wharf around the fore shore that is beautiful and undulating (good shoes). Goes past Clifton Gardens (beach / Picnic areas) and there are a few cafes along the way too.There are busses back to the top of Mosman Junction. You can catch a bus back to the city or to Mosman Wharf to get back to Circular Quay.There are 2 named nude beaches in this area. So if this offends. You have been told.

Easily accessible, a great place to explore with nice waterview. Less than an hour walk to and from the paid parking slots.

Good place for a walk, go for a lizard search and you won’t be disappointed.

An amazing place to take in some phenomenal views of Middle Head to Manly and across to Watson’s Bay. Also a great place for the kids to play around all of the old war barracks and bunkers.

Postcard perfect location Historic gun emplacement about to get a major restoration.... Short walk but worthy every step!

Nice spot to see the heads, Manly, Balmoral and more. Watch the boats and ferries pass by. Explore the old ruins or watch the sunrise.
