At Sea

Had the Fisherman’s Basket and enjoyed it. Was disappointed it was raining ( not the shop’s fault) as we wanted to sit by the water but it was very nice outside the shop and spoke to some friendly customers as well who also enjoyed their meal.

The only place to come for fresh seafood. Staff always give great suggestions on how to prepare your seafood.Bought about 8 whole snappers over a two week period. So goodIf they have black snapper! You have to buy it.Mussels, calamari and oysters are amazing.

Got a fillet of flathead and four prawn cutlets, the flathead was bloody delicious little oily but tasty.The pawn cutlets, not so much, I’ve never had prawns that are tough before, but the disappointing thing was they’re $2.50 each and the lone fillet of flathead was $15.Great fish but unreasonable price.

Very friendly staff, nice fish, excellent calamari and salt and pepper squid. Nice cooked mussels. Crispy tasty batter.Great fresh prawns and oysters. Potato scallops thick potato, really good, only let down was the Tassie scallops were overcooked and rubbery.

Average fish and chips. We were thinking that being down on the harbour it would be something special but not really, fish was oily and soggy, no lemon. Shop looked tired and gloomy inside

Loved it, really fresh seafood, sustainably caught, no flake which is great. We had Flathead & calamari plus chips (yum and the calamari was nice chunky pieces lightly fried as the fish was) Best chips ever!

I visited 'At Sea' recently for my first time based on all the great reviews. I was passing by and I really felt like a traditional take away serving of battered fish and chips for lunch. This shop is located at the harbour precinct with a number of fresh fish options that can be ordered either battered or grilled. The shop presents well, no complaints on that front.However when I entered the shop I asked the attendant how much for entry level (take away) battered fish and chips. The attendant pointed at the sign and said it's $18 for traditional battered flake and chips. I hesitated to ponder for a moment and politely left. I just felt that this price is beyond what I felt was reasonable for a standard serving of take away fish and chips. And the serving size which I saw being provided to other customers was very modest as well.I understand inflation is hurting many businesses and prices are increasing everywhere, however I consider $18 for a standard take away serving of battered flake & chips beyond reasonable no matter how good it may taste.

Sustainably caught seafood, deliciously cooked fish and chips, a must for fish and chip aficionados!At Sea is a charming fish and chip joint and fish market. You have your choice of fresh fish - we chose snapper and blackfish, both cooked to perfection. The batter stood out, it was not too thick or too thin, and had a unique seasoning unlike any other fish and chip shop I've been too. This was served with a generous amount of hot and tasty chips. I will be back for sure! Potato cakes were dope too.

Absolutely amazing! Incredibly fresh! We ordered calamari, grilled fish, sweet chilli squid and chips. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the food. The staff was very welcoming. Would highly recommend this local gem.

What a vibe. This place was so unassuming, it’s just the perfect hidden treasure! The staff were super friendly and accommodating, the atmosphere was great and the food was unbelievable! I had the brand new (mega) fish taco which was packed with their melt in your mouth grilled fish. It was all so good, I couldn’t have been happier!
