Great service.

About a month ago we stopped at T&K Mechanical in Calliope because of some issues with the gearbox. They were happy to squeeze us in as we were only passing through town on our travels down South. The mechanic’s trainee was put to work and ended up noticing that the rod-end of our gear selector had just popped out from its joint and only needed to be popped back in and be locked in place. Not really a big thing, if you have the tools. However, even though the gearstick is working now, it brushes against the driver’s seat when changing from 3rd to 4th and from 4th to 5th gear. We only noticed that when we were already quite a bit away from Calliope when I hopped into the drvier's seat (usually my partner drives) and moved the seat forward a bit. We were charged $250 (for 1h working hours only as no material replacements were needed) — a price way too high in our minds.. Plus: during the repair the rubber cover of the gearstick was ripped apart from rough handling.. Very disappointing.
