Last time I was here it was $13 for a loaf of sour dough bread! They have a good selection but service is typically very slow.

Bread Street is a Mont Albert institution. As a local, I cannot support or recommend this business enough. Their friendly service and brilliant sense of community is hard to find these days, not to mention a Boston bun that would knock your socks off. Thank you Bread Street for all that you do for our community and our lunches!

I love the sourdough fruit breads but only when fresh. Quite often it is sold hard as a rock and not even reduced. I have made complaints re this but still continues to happen

Mediocre bread, I find them a bit dry most of the time. The only reason we went was because it’s on the way and because of their “frequent customer card”, which according to the card every $40th (4 stamps) spent you get free bread rolls and every $60th (6 stamps) spent you get a free loaf.I opted not to redeem my free bread as after spending $10 as I already have enough bread to eat. Went back the next time to redeem my breads, but was told I’d have to spend ANOTHER $20 to redeem them ... even though I had already spent $60 at the shop and was willing to forfeit my stamp card after redeeming my bread (card had 12 spots total, I had 8 stamps). Or I suggested that we can move the 8th and 9th stamp to the 4th and 8th stamp spot. But NO. I had to spend another $20 right there if I wanted to claim my breads.Got lectured by the owner after talking to the cashier lady, on how much charity they do (honestly i know a lot of bread shops who donate to charity, so you're not the only bakery who does that, nothing to brag about) and how they are fair, and how he is very experienced in the bakery field. But really my only concern was the shop forcing me to spend another $20 for bread which I could've redeemed but chose not to redeem during my last 2 visit.Ridiculous as either way I’d have already spent the same amount at the bakery, the only difference was WHEN I chose to redeem my bread. Can get better bread at a cheaper price somewhere else, now I‘d rather go OUT of my way to buy bread elsewhere, not returning again.
