FlyFree Retractable Insect Screens

When we bought our house a few years ago it was mostly screened, however our French doors to the deck were not and we liked to leave these open all the time to get airflow through the house. However, living in a leafy area of Brissie we had heaps of mozzies to contend with. We didn't think there was a solution until we found the fly free retractable screen. As a product it did exactly what it was supposed to and we found the installer to be prompt and efficient (although we did have to ask him to remove his work boots on the polished floors at the time). The screens have been installed now for about three years with no problems - allowing us to open up the house as a welcome relief from the Brisbane summer.

This is our second Retractable Fly screen we've had done by John & the boys and the longest at 5 metres. The quality of these screens and service is why we keep coming back. The screens are invisible and we still have a beautiful outlook to our backyard. All the photos taken are with the screen close. Thanks again for another smooth installation.

We had most of our house fitted out with FlyFree retractable screens recently and they’re awesome- well worth the price! They’re very well designed, easy to use and are quite strong. Giovanna and I have recently had our fly free screens installed by John and his crew. We have 2 large (greater than 5m) screens and we are extremely happy with them. John went above and beyond to help us and make the experience as smooth as possible. A good price, a great product and we highly recommend them.

The owner and the team at FlyFree were very accomodating when we kept changing the house plans for our recent build and provided prompt quote turn arounds which we are found was almost impossible from all the other trades we engaged. We hadn't built before and we wished all the tradesman where as thorough as FlyFree were. We finally had them installed a few months ago and the work a treat, they really make the outdoor areas more usable. I would definitely use these guys if we build or move in the future. We were happy with the ordering process, although we did find that the measuring parameters were poor. Despite being a retired builder and carpenter, (only recently) I had difficulty with installation due to poor instructions...cut a long story short...I did finally install the unit correctly and found several issues. First, the flyscreen mesh is NOT very taut, in fact, quite floppy, and in our opinion NOT PET MESH which we paid extra for. The retraction on the screen is ridiculously 'vicious', for lack of other description. Despite an indepth search on their website, I could not find how to re-adjust the tension for retraction. The door style (the one that pulls the screen) is flimsy, at best. And I feel that this will be the Archilles heel of the system...time will tell.I will point out that John, the manager offered our money back ... a nice gesture, but leaves us with no screen when we need it most. Apart from the fact that we have re-package this awkward sized product to send back via courier. Our problem also we're not in the Brisbane region...Fraser Coast. Friends of ours had a unit installed, same opening, same application for French Doors.. a different manufacturer/ distributor, their product FAR SUPERIOR, and same price but with installation. Disappointed with a flimsy, overpriced product. ($ 1,300)

I am writing this review 12 months after I had my back deck fitted with Fly Free screens. I didn't write a review straight away because I wanted to see how the product stood the test of time.After 12 months I have got nothing but rave reviews about the product. It has lasted so well and has changed the way we use our home.We can now use our deck throughout the year whereas before the mosquitoes prevented that through most of the year.The installation was well done and the team at FlyFree couldn't be more helpful. I would highly recommend FlyFree and their team- in fact i have done to a lot of people already.

We have just finished our first summer season with our FlyFree screens and extremely happy with them. its fantastic to have the whole house open without the risk of being eaten alive, An enjoyable experience from quote right through to installation, great service installers were friendly and efficient. I would highly recommend and any future properties will have FlyFree screens installed before we even move in.

Once we signed off on the screens we wanted, Fly Free were accommodating and highly communicative throughout the process prior and during installation. The screens work beautifully, keeping the kids where we need them to be, while also preventing flys and mosquitoes from entering our house. We have been suitably impressed by the family business attitude with the swiftness of a larger operation. We would highly recommend the installation from Fly Free.

We've had our screens in place now for a couple of years now and it's made a huge difference to our enjoyment of our house. Our house is very open front to back and we didn't want to lose that open feel with fly screens plus due to the sliding doors, it was difficult to find screens to fit. The team at Fly Free are amazing. Within hours of the screens being fitted, out dog ran right through 2 of them because they are virtually invisible! The team came back and replaced the broken screen. We had a few issues early on with the screens coming out of the track but the team always came back to help and fix issues. Their aftercare service is amazing. We did end up replacing the front door screen with a mesh that has lines running through it because visitors kept walking through the screen - because they are so sheer and invisible! We now have small black stickers on the screens at eye level and we make a point of telling visitors to be careful! If you are looking for fly screens for hard to fit areas that don't interfere with the design of your property, these are the screens for you.
