Cambridge House B&B

My family and I stayed here over the Christmas break with the new owners.Cambridge House is a MUST stay on your trip to Tasmania. The new owners are incredibly welcoming and the hospitality is on par with what I have experienced at 5 star hotels.The house from the outside is very sweet, and the inside with the new decor is fresh, comfortable and very welcoming.Guests have the option of including the Japanese style breakfast and Japanese degustation dinner. The dinner NEEDS to be on everyones itinerary - a 15 course Japanese style degustation with all local ingredients, as well as the option to cater for dietary requirements. This as one of the highlights of our trip. The breakfast is also just as tasty and exciting!We would recommend booking a stay here on your Tassie trip for the wonderful experience this House offers, as well as, Geeveston being a great location to visit a heap of cidery's.Book it - you will not regret it :)

After a memorable stay many years ago, we have come to Cambridge House again. And we were not disappointed. Our room was large and well appointed, with a very comfortable bed, two easy chairs and good heating. Yes, even in summer we needed heating. There is also a nice guest lounge. Breakfasts were excellent and were full cooked breakfasts together with a large plunger coffee. We did not see platypus in the river as we did previously, but it was pleasant having a walk along the river for a look. We hear they are still about.

Exceptional service and food in a traditional ryokan style.You are carefully looked after for the duration of your stay.The building is not wheelchair accessible. However, discuss your requirements with the hosts prior to booking and they will do everything they can to make it possible.Dinner was a 10 course event with two courses cooked on the open fire in front of us. Very local food, some of which was grown on the property.The chef creates dishes with a connection to the seasons and the land.Breakfast was traditional Japanese ryokan, filling, fresh and flavoursome.

Great place to stay! Extremely comfortable. Great hosts & an amazing fully cooked breakfast. Yummo check out the platypus in the river. Amazing garden. Central to all of the local attractions. Highly recommend. Glenda & David

If there were more stars to give I would gladly give them all to this absolutely most amazing B&B. The house and the rooms are very cosy and lovely decorated in the historical style of the house. The freshly cooked breakfast by the owner was the absolute highlight of our stay. You’re definitely in for a treat. Also option to view platypus down by the river. If you’re in Tasmania, do yourself a favour and come to this place. Lovey family-owned and run business. Will definitely be back!

You could not ask for better service, facilities, views or food. The couple that runs the B&B are absolutely gorgeous and an incredible pleasure to speak to. The food is something else entirely, an incredible experience for the mouth - truly awe-inspiring flavours - bringing the absolute best out of the fresh produce.If you come for the food alone you will not be disappointed.. a must do for any person that loves Japanese food or food in general

Great Breakfast. Each room has a unique character. Lovely service. A platypus pair lives in the backyard. There is a good chance to observe the platypus if you stay for 2 nights.

Stayed here over the XMAS break and was honored to be so well taken care of by the new owners Thana, Kaz and their beautiful daughter Sora. We were incredibly spoiled. The rooms are beautiful, spotless. Every comfort was arranged from afternoon tea at the platypus walk to the incredible breakfasts and dinner from Kaz. Would love to return.

Best B&B I've been to! Historic house with big rooms and modern bathrooms. Awesome full English breakfast and more! Both evenings we have gone down to the river at the back of the B&B we have have seen platypi! Free WiFi. Owners are a delight and will give you all the information you need to get the best out of your stay in the area.
