Very nice morning tea at Dark Horse. They have the best carrot cake I have had. Not overly sweet or greasy as carrot cakes are notoriously heavy on the oily side. It was light on my taste buds and stomach, but the flavor was not compromised. And it was fairly a heavy and dense slice of cake. The coffee was delicious. Chill vibe. Liked the interior of the cafe. All in all, 5 stars well deserved.

So happy to see this place thriving after the floods. What a bright, sunny and happy café! ... however, the food was seriously disappointing. We found it particularly bland. I had a slice of frittata and my friend and I shared the corn fritter stack. We had high hopes for finding excellent food at such a lovely place. Alas, it was tasteless and disappointing. I am not trying to be disparaging here, but offer some helpful feedback. It could have been so much better! Freshly made fritters would be lovely- these were like soft pikelets rather than crispy and fresh. The frittata needed fresh herbs and a lot more flavor. Otherwise a lovely spot in the sun with good atmosphere. Thank you!

Ordered a large decaf coffee to take away but received a caffeinated coffee. There was nobody else in the cafe so no idea how they forgot. I still feel sick from the caffeine hours later and I am breastfeeding so my baby will also be affected. To top it off the coffee was awful and they had no idea if their decaf coffee was made with the Swiss water method or using solvents. While I’m at it their staff are pretty hit and miss in the friendliness department. This was the second shot I gave this place. Won’t ever be going back here.

This is a wonderful rustic, organic restaurant. The food was light and wholesome with plenty of flavour. The staff and service were great - as was the coffee! We were so happy to see a small business doing so well post floods. Would highly recommend.

A great name for this bustling cafe in Lismore. Certainly is a Dark Horse. So pleasantly suprised by the delectable food and great friendly service on a busy Saturday morning
