Bought their meats at a farmer's market. Little pricey but that's to be expected for quality smokehouse goods.Their Kabana was quite tasty aswell. So, why the bad review?I Was sold bacon that was 3 days past the expiry date. 200grams for over $10. Didn't realise til I got it home and opened it and found it was all slimy and starting to smell. By then the farmers market is over, too late to return it...Found the website and sent off an email to ask what the story was, got an automated reply advising 1 day turnaround for a reply.Been a couple weeks since and no reply. Pretty bad to sell off pork products and then to ignore customer feedback.

First time coming here and the smell of the shop is amazing.I bought a couple of things just to try the minute I got home I got into the pastrami and it was divine so much flavour just the right amount of smoke.Can't wait to try the kranskys on the weekend

Just a good old-fashioned company in terms of good service, excellent product (tried and true recipes).I can remember visiting Butts as a kid in the 1990s (they have been around a while, and know their stuff!), when there was sawdust on the floor. Just a really genuine business that I am happy to keep buying from week in week out.People complaining about the price are missing the point - you get what you pay for. If you want deliciously smoked fresh meat and fish, then look no further. If you are happy with imported stuff from the Woolworths deli aisle, then save your money and get that inferior stuff.For me, this place is one of life's great pleasures. It is great to see they are keeping traditions alive. And they have been doing it since long before the gourmet/hipster/foodie movement started, so they are the real deal.
