Mercure Launceston

Room was modern, clean and spacious with a desk and reclining chair in the room by the very large window which looked over the park. The bed was comfy which was nice after big days of sightseeing. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay. The buffet breakfast was great as well with a lot of options. The bread was so good, as was the danishs. The place is also very local and close to the cdb, beautiful gardens and many restaurants and cafes. Highly recommend staying here!

We were in a room that was a thoroughfare for the main exit down the stairs to reception/main road or out to the carpark. While the rooms are no smoking, outside the building isn't and the smoke wafted directly into our room.There are NO OPTIONS for making own food. Room had a kettle, two teacups, two glasses. No microwave and no toaster (which we have found to be quite regular in this type" of booking).Bathroom okay. Bit pokey and the shower slippery after use.The park across the road is awesome. At least an hour to explore

Old, on main road, they give you free ear plugs for the road noise! Couldn't get breakfast cause they prebooked another tour group.

Great accommodation! Beautiful modern and clean rooms. Would stay here again.

The room and service was excellent and we were in one of the new rooms. This hotel is under renovation which I was not aware of when we booked. Thankfully we were in an area away from that and the noise ceased by 4pm. It is on a busy road and the road noise was noticeable. It is also located on a steep hill and has many stairs aswell as a lift which is why it was manageable for me but just as a heads up for anyone with mobility concerns, the carpark walk to the back entry is steep especially rolling luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The staff are very tentative , the room , comfortable, soap scum build up in the shower and the tea and coffee was very poor quality.I had dinner in the restaurant, fish of the day - gummy , very nice , good serve and great flavour. Desert I had the chic mousse with raspberry and coconut snow- 100%

Was made feel really welcome by Sam on the front desk. She was super helpful with restaurant bookings and our room was very comfortable

Stayed there 1 night prior to starting the overland track walk. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and well put together. Bed very comfortable and great shower. The restaurant was fabulous as was the service by all staff. The issue with the location was the outside traffic noise which did not stop throughout the whole night. I did manage an hours sleep between 11 & 12 and that was it. Unfortunately due to the lack of sleep 1 hour into my anticipated 6 day walk I had to turn back and abort the walk. This has wasted my entire trip which centred around the walk. Would suggest if you are refurbishing a motel on a road with considerable traffic throughout the night perhaps do a bit of work on sound proofing.

Room was spotless and modern. Breakfast was good value. But the best thing about the stay were the wonderful reception staff. So friendly, efficient and helpful.
