Mount Basalt Reserve
Mount Basalt apparently was formed a long time ago by volcanic eruption of magna and steam and the cooling of the rock. There are two benches with seats under cover and a bin. There is a billboard explaining the Basalt formation with some diagrams. The climb to the top is not long but quite rough so sturdy shoes are recommended as the rocks can shift under weight as well.

Great spot with a short uphill walk to see some amazing rock formations and a 360 view of the countryside.

Its a good 3.5km walk from the gate on the main road. You can drive if you like to the picnic area near the top.

Mount Basalt Reserve
Great place to get views over Millmerran and the Power station. Undercover seating area with a bin and a loop track that isn't hard to complete. You can climb both hills. Lots of rocks sticking here and there in the path.

Peaceful quiet view...with a gentle walk from the picnic area around the hilltop..only 10 minutes in to Millmerran
