Richmond River Light
Great spot for picnic overlooking the ocean, fantastic vantage point for whale watching. Unfortunately can't get into the lighthouse

We didn't go inside, but lighthouses have become my new thing. So, seeing all the lighthouses in Australia is what I'm gonna be doing, and I quite like this one. It's only shorter but still cool.

Possibly the smallest lighthouse I've seen so almost missed it. Easy parking on the grass with no designated car parking.If you go to Ballina point lookout turn around it's on the hill behind you.

Surprised at how small and quaint the lighthouse is. It doesn't detract from the beautiful view overlooking the waves though and you can easily park your car just near the lighthouse on the grass. Grab a few photos and have a quick walk around

Richmond River Light
We were only close to the lighthouse at the lookout.There we were able to see 5 whales in about 30 minutes. We did see a tourist boat resting off shore and able to watch 3 of these whales who stayed and played for at least 15 minutes, close to this boat.I would love to have been on that boat because of this fantastic experience. But I do not know whose boat it was.
