BUYER BEWARE.9000 dollar max pro bike was unsound and unsafe at the point of purchase. Front brake failure could have killed me on a high power e bike.Too many other problems to list.Refund and returns process was a pain at best and took me over 6 months to get the bike back that I still needed to pay a local bike shop to fix here in Adelaide.Pictures taken when the bike hadn't even done 50kms.

I bought a Volition Max Dual Suspension Mountain Bike without seeing the actual bike in June this year. I have to say the back and forth emails with Volition were pretty good and their response time was good. I seem to realise that a lot of the bad reviews on this page are from direct encounters, but personally I had no problem dealing with them online. They were fast and prompt with responses.Now while I bought the bike without seeing it, I knew the specs that my bike came and I thought it was value for money (compared to having to build it yourself). The bike was built well, the Bafang G510 on it fit seamlessly into the frame and I thought they did a good job with the build. The screws and nuts on every aspect of the bike was loose so make sure you do a good check of EVERY nut before you head out for a spin. Everything was loose - from the nuts in the stand to the ones in front.2 months into using the bike, the derailleur hanger snapped and the bike chewed my derailleur up. While I know that a hanger is a consumable, I paid 110 bucks to get the derailleur replaced at the local bike shop. Mind you, Volition’s derailleur hanger is so unique - and can ONLY be bought from them. Literally no other bike shop stocks their variant of the derailleur hanger. I ended up purchasing two derailleur hangers from them and got it shipped over and installed.All in all, I did about 300kms with the bike.The advantage of buying a Bafang motor from Volition is they reseal their motors making them more waterproof compared to buying one off AliExpress and building yourself.I ended up selling the bike 4 months into using it as I felt that I had outgrown the speed and wanted something faster - my friend’s diy bbshd (cadence sensing) went heaps faster than this. But the Volition Max is a good torque sensing bike for those who prefer that assist mode.

I purchased a Volition Jet because it had internal hub gears and a high powered motor. The idea of the internal gears is to preserve the life of chain and chainrings.The bike was initially disappointing because I couldn’t get up the hills around my house.After a few emails two changes were made: a smaller front chainring was installed and the motor was ‘upgraded’ to give it more power.Now I can ride any hill I am likely to find,I think the products are generally good. Maybe offering customers a choice of chainrings might be something Volition could consider.By far the best part of the Volition is dealing with the sales rep: Rob.Rob is hilarious, just don’t take him too seriously.

Are you suggesting there's an issue with using your product "excessively" (approx 200km a week)?The video bellow is demonstrating the freeplay of the motor as its not secured properly and therefore crushing the wires.I had initially contacted you about this issue 2 months after my purchase. Your idea I believe was to stretch things out past the warranty. Great business model. The product was faulty

I bought a Max Carbon XL and pretty happy with it. Go’s really well and I just leave it on 1 PAS when on tracks and pedalling around most of the time. That’s plenty of boost but can go to 5 which gets into chain breaking territory.In power mode using throttle it gets my 100kg to about 40km on flat ground. Any form of hill certainly dints the speeds.They are really tall bikes. The minimum seat height is 50mm higher that my Trek Rail 9. I’m 6ft 4 and it’s on the tall side for me. I could easily get away with a Large or a Medium.Components are good for the price but they skimp on the wheels and tyres ( standard car valves ) and the charger is only 3amp so takes about 6-7 hrs to charge up which is annoying.Over all I’m giving it 8/10

Love my Max Dingo e-MTB and the after sales support from Celso and the volition team has been first rate. Only advice is to make sure to get a dropper post fitted with your purchase - you will need it as this bike is seriously fast on the trails!

I think some comments here are overly harsh.It took me quite some time to have made my decision. I have tried a few bikes from different brands. I think I wanted the power and torque of volition ebikes. I have been riding my bike for two weeks. so far it is great !

Pros: Quality bike partsCons: Expensive to service and rough behaviour.1. No 1st free service if over 3 months. They quote $300 to $500 annually for servicing an ebike. It's very high in my opinion.Always ready to argue instead of listening and focusing on how can I help this customer.2. Very rude owner. I was treated unfairly. That man lacks empathy and maturity. Treat your customers well and try to help them, it will pay off in the long run.3. I had wobbly back wheel & misalingment issue, needed spoke tensioning, they asked me to replace the brake pads and rotor as well for $144 which I never asked them in the first place and I told them I can replace those myself. They just wanted to justify charging me $144 to fix the wheel wobbling, on a new ebike that's only done 690 kms.4. They'll insist you to service the bike else they'll void your warranty.Better off buying branded ebikes as they give you service under warranty. You can get Giant, momentum, transcend+ ebikes often on sale for $2k, check ozbargain.

I had a reasonably good experience with this company. I prchased a Surron LBX for the going rate with the intention of registering it. The shipping was fast.The RMS required further details of importer registration which Volition provided when requested. The tech specs were obtained through the RMS themselves. It now costs $210 to register every year (including NRMA insurance). A very low maintenance bike!

Great price for such a powerful motorAs an ex employee I can assure you that they take extreme care into small details, and that all of their products are suspect to a final inspection (even if they are new) so you don’t have any problems.Ps:they also do really cool custom builds
