I'd been wanting to make the most of my home environment for quite a while but wasn't confident about which direction to take it. Tony Fragar intuitively understood how to combine my personal style with the spaces as well as the practical and decorative opportunities. In addition he was just great at staging the work schedule according to my priorities, time-framework and financial management. Being proud of and creative with your home makes such a difference. My architectural requirements were complex. I needed a new house to fit behind and compliment an existing local heritage item. Tony Fragar came up with an ingenious 'Y'- shaped dwelling that accommodated difficult access and aspect demands. He also specified some rustic recycled materials to help it blend with the semi-rural and heritage setting. It was immediately approved by Council and everything came in on time. Tony attended two Pre-DA meeting with me and worked hard to get the best outcome in dealing with all the planning constraints that were inherent in the property. We made a general inquiry about maximising the potential of our property to suit our needs. Tony Fragar promptly visited and compiled a list of what we wanted. He then balanced that up with all the Council planning constraints. In a short time we had a diagrammatic plan of what would fit where - indicating a logical layout which made all our options clear. He couldn't have been more helpful.

We had ideas about how our new homestead would be. Tony Fragar was immediately able to translate these into an on-site concept. The vision was for a small collection of buildings that addressed the views, the conflicting northern orientation ..... as well as the approach to the site from the opposite direction. This showed lateral thinking as well as sensitivity to our needs. We were so impressed.

Tony Fragar is a highly skilled and creative architect and designer. He has a spatial and artistic vision that is unsurpassed. I wanted to make my single-storey terrace in Alexandria more comfortable. I had a small budget and some DIY skills. Tony listened with an attentive ear and was able to design a space that was not only efficient but beautiful, and just right for my lifestyle. His aesthetic was to remain sensitive to the existing beautiful bones of the house and to make the most of every inch while maximising light. We found incredible old sash windows which I stripped back. Tony’s problem solving, ingenious ideas and clear vision were evident throughout the process. The result, with a new bathroom (with bath!) and light-filled back room with huge old windows, was thrilling, and a joy to live in.
